More Deep Dive fanart! A picture of when Riku lost to [spoiler].More Riku fanart, yes. Sigh. I fangirl him very much. I miss the days when I could go babble in an AIM chatroom with a bunch of other fans! Feed each other's tendancies in a vicious, cannibalistic cycle.
I drew it on openCanvas and moved it to Photoshop to color. When coloring, realized the color sceme was very reminicent of that one picture from Loveless (it's the blue-green/purple hair shading combo). But I love blues/greens/purples together...!
oC is very nice for smooth lineart, but I'm not comfortable/familiar with coloring in the program and I prefer all the options in PS. But I tried to color it in oC style, or what I think is oC style... It has a more painterly effect than Photoshop, which I adore. I WISH I knew how to use Corel Painter, though, because I love the "authentic" feel to them. Anyone know of a good Corel Painter beginner's tutorial?

God, you capture Riku so beautifully... ;___; he always looks so soft and airy when you draw him.. it makes my heart flutter. :3 It's the kind of thing where I can tell you really care about the character.

I really do love how this came out, Whenever you draw Riku, he just looks so beautiful.
Sadly I don't have anyone I can rant at about his prettiness, since only one of my friends besides me actully likes kingdom hearts.

Aww! You can rant about his prettiness here! I will too! XD I love how intense he is with everything he does, and that he went through... so much.... STUFF in between the KH:CoM and KHII games. A lot of growth to his character. He feels bad about what he did, but I'm glad he can still smile, like when Sora was being a dork and made him laugh.

I totally have to agree with that, I love how he always acts to calm and serene most of the time, but you can tell by looking at him, that he's really hurting inside, and although everyone say's that it's okay, everything that happened to him is something that he just can't let go of.
I have to say, that from the three games, Riku's character developed way more then anyone else, there was just too much going on with him. X3

And he's so... dedicated. Riku worked to earn the forgiveness he didn't think he deserved (?). And after everything, he felt ashamed to return to the island. (Though, when I think about it, he could have returned to Destiny Island anytime he wanted when he had those dark-portal powers, ne?? Except he looked like Ansem and that would have freaked everyone out.)
