Something a little more abstract, and weird coloring again! Possibly using this for KH Ultimania's new art contest, which states you must only use 2 colors.SPOILERS
SPOILERS
I'm still working out the Nobodies/Heartless logic. Technically, the name "Heartless" is decieving because they ARE the hearts of people who have fallen into darkness, right? Hence the little hearts being released when Sora the Shadow Slayer slices into them, and how he returned to himself after Kairi called him back from being one? (?)
And then, "Ansem" = Xehanort's heartless, and in a way IS Xehanort.... right? @__@ But was "Ansem" and Xemnas working together? Except Xemnas wasn't looking for his heart but for power, so even though they probably knew where each other were - Heartless and Nobody - they...uh... didn't want to return to their Xehanort-self. Then Ansem was defeated KHI, but returned somehow via stalking Riku's heart. (Or maybe Ansem's heart is IN Riku, like how Kairi's heart was stuck in Sora??)
That'd be... odd.
Have I lost anyone? T_T All these are just theories, fyi.
TK-friend replies: I think that the Ansem we see in KH II is just the embodiment of Riku's darkness given a physical form, and given that Xehanort's heart kind of resided in Riku when he gave himself over to darkness, to a degree it is his heart, but in the same way it isn't, because they defeat Xemnas and reclaim Riku therby forcing Xehanort's heart away
Me: Ooo, good idea. 8D
TK: Otherwise, Riku would've known to identify himself as Xehanort and not Ansem. Because, if it were Xehanort's heart, he would know that he is Xehanort.

P.S. I love Heartless. They're so cute and cuddly. I want a bajillion Heartless plushies! A friend sent me two that she made, and they were adorable!

I think that he changed because it was Ansem/Xehanort's darkness that was challenging him, so that was the extend of the darknes she needed to beat...uh...Number XIII.

i love heartless - you're right, they're adorable.
& i always thought they were they darkness in people's hearts, in tangible form. then the light was what went up to kingdom hearts.

Awesome picture. That heartless in the middle is adorable, and works so well with the title. I was a little confused on the whole heartless and nobodies thing too, but I think a lot of what you've said makes sense.

Now I thought that Heartless were the people who had lost their hearts, but the only thing backing up my answer is that Sora became one in the first game when he rescued Kairi. At the same time, Kairi basically became a lifeless doll when she lost her heart (and then again, she never really lost it, it was just sleeping in Sora) AUUGH! ANYWAY! My original theory. That because the Heartless no longer have hearts, they search for and devour any hearts they can manage to find, like at the end of KH 2 (SPOILER) when the giant heart exploded because of DiZ's machine and all the hearts start pouring out, the whole place is overrun with Heartless. And what are Nobodies again? Something like the shell of the person made when a Heartless is made? Why is it that I know so much about the game, but I understand it about as well as I would if it were still in Japanese?

Anyway, I have a theory, too. Somewhat similar and all.
I think that when a person looses their heart, three things happen. First, their heart escapes and is either captured by wandering Heartless or make it to form Kingdom Hearts. Secondly, their souls extract themselves and corrode, giving them a darker appearance and a whispy form. The corroded soul looses the power of the mind, left behind in the body, and becomes animalistic. The body, left only with its mind and concious, becomes a Nobody. It is unfair to say they are emotionless--they experience mental emotions and have the complex thoughts needed for such. They may not feel other emotions, though, such as fear, which reside within the heart and soul.
So that would make the fake Ansem, Xehanort's Heartless, a corroded soul. Xemnas would be the vessel left behind, leaving only his mind and his mental desire for his heart, leaving his only emotion--longing. Xehanort's heart, however, is gone.
Thaaaaaat's my theory, though. I kinda like yours better.

I'm too lazy to go through all the other comments to see if someone's said this already, but I think the hearts released when you slay the Heartless are hearts they've collected from others since becoming Heartless, not their own hearts.

Omg, this is beautiful! You are very artistic! With only two colors you managed to establish a mood and delicate lighting, I love it! Not to mention the design of the heartless is so cool and yours look so cute!
If I was to make one criticism it would be that you can still see the circles from the brush tool. I like the rough look that it gives, but it looks a little too obvious if you know what I mean.
I'm just as confused as you are about the heartless/nobody stuff. It's cool though isn't it? :-D
