Description
I normally don't draw stuff like this and I'm not too "comfortable" about it yet, but someone special told me to try to draw this way.Which is to draw my disability.
This little tortoise is a symbol for me.
It's something I struggle with daily, so I guess you can say I carry this tortoise where ever I go.
The tortoise represents my brain, my learning disability.
They say it affects my ability to learn things, specifically in school. Sure, it truly does make school work EXTREMELY difficult.
It didn't seem fair to me in school, since I had to work twice as hard than anyone else around me just to meet the regular standards.
I feel as if this affects me in almost anything I do, not just in school. Whether it's; communication, drawing, repeating after a song, learning a new skill etc.
In other words, my brain process takes a little longer than "normal" I guess you can say.
This tortoise does not affect me physically in any way what so ever but mentally it does.
Despite all the struggles I had in the past, though I do still continue to struggle...in the end, I know I will get to the end of that race. Sure, everyone might have beat me to the finish line, but what's important to me is that I still keep going until I finish. I will cross that finish line at my own pace, I shall not be discouraged. Nor will I stop in the middle of a race and quit.
AIP~

Aw, I'm sorry that you have to cope with that. :c I like your attitude about it though. ^-^ It's definitely important to do things at your own pace, whenever you can. It's important to do what's right for you, not what's right for everyone else.

It's alright, it is something I am born with, so I have to keep positive!
For sure! Very true!
Thank you so much!

Sadly I'm the same way, I needed help in school but there will be times were things will make complete sense and its usually a subject you like or something that doesn't require much help like art.
It was a real pain when the teacher asked everyone if they understood and you'd be the odd one out :'D There are other ways of learning which may help you.
Most of the time information went in one ear and out the other xD
Anyway I'm happy you don't let this put you down, and I'm sure you will go far cx

I guess it's cool to find someone who knows what I go through daily.
Yes, what you say is something I completely relate to! I always feel felt out.
Yeah, I found out before that I learn best by using visuals.
I'm a visual learner!
Hahaha, except I don't intend to let it go one ear and out the other.
I just don't process things very well.
I try to not let it get to me, I will admit though...it's hard and a complete struggle.
Just gotta manage through, I guess.
Thank you, Blue~

Sometimes it helps knowing there are others out there.
Pretty awful when it happens especially when you get told off for not paying attention or making many mistakes :'D
Same here with the visuals, its more understandable than having a board full of complex writing.
Haha thats good to hear you don't xD
I often think of it as a PC , some have good processors and well others don't |'D Just a matter of going at the pace the processor can handle without a break down.
Sometimes it will get to you but one thing to keep in mind is even though there will be people better than you there will also be people worse than you, kind of sad I know but it does help to think of it like that sometimes.
but yes managing is all we can do, just think of what you've learned now compared to afew years ago c:
No problem at all cx

Very true.
I don't know what else to say.
You just kind of said all the right things, all things that I relate to or understand.
I really appreciate it!

So thank you for listening xD

Thats very true I've had ex friends call me stupid simply because I struggle to spell, English is my weakness but it really doesn't define me :'D
No worries cx Sometimes it helps to let it out.

Oh my goodness! I had ex friends who called me stupid too. It wasn't for spelling though, the things I would say and my grades were the reasons of course.
I dropped them so fast when I knew they weren't good friends.
Yeah.

I should have done the same thing but well its hard :'D
You'd be surprised, I had the lowest grades and predicted Gs in my exams but damn I proved them wrong~
Nothing is set in stone.
Thats great you did! I don't think I'd have it in me to do so

Well, yeah. I can understand that can be difficult. I didn't drop them right away though. I would realize a little late.
Once I did, I refused any contact with them. I just couldn't keep them around cuz I knew I would only suffer with them around. It really shows who your true friends are.
Same! I proved everyone wrong when my grades picked up in the start of my high school year to the very end.
I didn't think I would either! I think when I did drop them, they just had done enough to make me upset.
It makes me more aware of others and how they would treat me. So, I'll always know when someone isn't a good influence on me.
Btw, I think our convos should be in notes instead at this point. Cuz I just realized we are talking through my comment section for one of pictures.
