What made episode 3 of season 3 so great was Sam's giant personality change. Normally he's a pretty relaxed guy but as soon as he found Max lying stiffy like a corpse he just SNAPPED! He come more angry, aggressive, and even a little violent

Hell yeah, I love this!! With the rain, the dead end, the noir Sam himself of course, and the graffiti giving it that lovely final touch. Nice one!

Well, back somewhere in the 50s there was this whole 'detective noir' genre which involved a lot of angry, depressed detectives going round with their five o' clock shadows and using their wit and fists to solve whatever half-assed assignment that was tossed at them. A bit like Flint, Sam's totally going down this road in the coming game.
Try looking at some noir media, the only thing I can think of that I've personally watched is Discworld Noir, which is an old game and has all the noir cliches you could possibly hope to find

What, actually call him noir or what it means? I think it might've just been the collective of rabid fans who coined the term noir Sam, but it might have been the Telltale groups themselves, I'm not sure.

The first original Artwork of Sam Angry and without his coat appeared in the "Freelance Dispatch Forum" and the title of the File was Noir Sam. Everything snowballed from there. ^^!
