You did a wonderful job with the different textures, do you use a brush for the hair textures? Or overlay a picture with the texture over the parts of the body that should have fur? It would be good to learn that part of how you work. even beyond that you do a good job with how you light characters and objects to give an idea of the texture. Do you change lighting technique for different textures, or just know what objects should have softer or harder lighting?

The textures are hand-painted using the Ol Water tool in Paint Tool SAI. And yeah, I pay attention to which parts of their bodies are more reflective to light and paint the lighting accordingly.
