Description
This is a really special drawing to me because I used a picture of my cousin as a reference!I drew this for theΒ Rising-Artists Β prompt challenge "When I Grow Up". The theme made me think a lot about all the small bits of magic in nature that become mundane as we grow and get busier. One of the reasons I love to draw is the challenge of looking at everything honestly and in new ways with every piece. And I hope I captured the wonderment of seeing something as small as firefly with fresh eyes here.
Cause fireflies are cool.
9x11 Bristol and mechanical pencil.

Heya, I'm not certain if the pencils I use have a hardness grade but I took a picture of one and uploaded it to my Scrapbook. I hope this helps!

Wow what a wonderful idea!! The little girl is so cute btw :3 the only thing I'm not *too* fond of is a bit of a "sketchy" texture, but then again it's all up to personal style (I like to draw smooth). You have a BIG plus for adding a background, it's not interresting to see artists constantly drawing people with no background. The overall impact is DAZZLING )

Thank you so much for your kind words! This was my first attempt at using Bristol and I had a bit of a learning curve on figuring out blending on it. Great feedback for future pieces!

I think the texture is perfect! As someone who also "likes to draw smooth", I can say that I think the 'smoothness in your work is pretty smooth. :-P
