Description
So, I was playing around with my Calligraphy pen, and well, I decided to draw something. I like her fluffy flower scarf thing. It was fun to draw. This was basically just a sketch. It didn't take very long. I kinda just sped through it. I really just wonted to use some of the art materials that are never used, like the calligraphy pen and my charcoal pencils. Essentially, this was just practice.
Well,
I hope you enjoy,
Have a nice day,
You content friend,
Ruby Stone
So I have decided to throw this into the because I would like to see some corrections on it. I know I messed up on her arm, so that is not at the forefront of my worries. I would like some help with her face. I've just not been happy with how I have been drawing faces lately. So anything to do with her face, including hair, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
By the way, I have put it into the correct me manga folder, but some of my style choices have a more realistic influence, so corrections for realism and manga are fine.

The body (or pose) itself looks more off than the face to me...but since you're worried about the face, here's what I think:
1) If the ears count, I think they look a bit small. Also, the placement might be a bit too far back on the head.
2) Something about the lips' shape bothers me. I'm not sure how to explain it...like, too flat?
3) I think the eyes are drawn at the wrong angle. To me, they look like they are drawn from the front view instead of profile view.
4) The hairline at the side above the ear looks off as well. It's missing that...pointed shape... *fails at explaining*
Hope what I said makes sense. >_<

The only reason I asked for the face is because that is what I want to focus on for the time being. One step at a time right? This was done as a real quick sketch and then inked with a caligraphy pen, which I am not very familiar with.
I understand what you are saying. I do disagree with the ear being too high up though, because on a real head they tend to be that high up as you can see hereΒ static4.depositphotos.com/1018β¦ but yes, they are difinitely too small. I need work with the profile view of a face, so I will contiue to practice. Thanks for the tips! You made sense don't worry. I appreciate your help.

I didn't mean high, I meant...back. *can't think of a better word* Basically, I meant too far to our left. I was thinking of proportion rules I don't clearly remember and guessed. Anyway, I googled and found www.foundation3d.com/uploads/i⦠and fc04.deviantart.net/fs70/i/201⦠that fit what I was thinking of. But from the pic you linked, it doesn't fit. *shrugs* (BTW, in the pic you linked, the ear is set high because the head is tilted a bit downward.)

Oh thanks! Helpful Β
I was trying, a little bit, for her head to be tilted a bit. I realize it didn't work. I always have the hardest time tilting the head Β But yeah, I'll keep that in mind. Those links help a bunch. haha I finally see noooooow.Β
Thanks for taking the time to reply and comment and all, I really appreciate it.Β
