Description
Yay! 2013 summary of art. Alright lets get to this.
January : This is a month full of sketches. I did so many sketches and I was trying to get the hang of some anatomy. I was also trying to find my style. So, while I drew a lot this month, not all of it was quality work. I also redrew a lot of old stuff this month and did requests. The drawing I put up for January was a sketch that I ended up colouring. It was something I was very proud of. Looking at it now, of course I see many mistakes, but I still like it.
February : I didn't draw much in this month. My anatomy was very bad at this point, although I didn't really realize it. I was also super bad at faces. I just couldn't get the body style and face style to go together. I didn't know whether to draw lips, or stick to a more traditional anime line. Also, at this point I wan't outlining anything. I was fed up with how bad I was at it and decided to just colour over pencil lines. The drawing I chose for February is something I drew for a friend. I was drawing some of her characters for inspiration. I was very happy with my colouring skills too. I was drawing with coloured pencils only, and I felt I was really good at it.
March : All the drawings I did in March were finished. I coloured all of them. I redrew a piece of art and I did a request. Those were the main things I actually did that month. I did a few other things but they were personal things and not really good. One of those personal drawings I did was outlined. I outlined it in a different colour and liked doing that a lot. Although, I still sucked at outlining. The picture I chose for this month was a request. I was never really happy with it and redid it a few times before I finally submitted this one.
April : I drew a fair amount in this month. A lot of the things I did were requests. There was one single thing that I outlined this month and that is the drawing I chose. I was very happy with this drawing. It was done in markers and I was very proud of that. Although I still enjoyed coloured pencil more. I think I was starting to realize that my anatomy was pretty bad at this point, but I really didn't do anything to fix it. I hadn't improved much since February.
May : May was a bit of a turning point in my art. I was trying some harder things and trying to fix some anatomy. I did gesture and pose drawings and I started trying to pay more attention to anatomy. The drawing I chose for this month was one that I took a very long time one. In the end, I wasn't very happy with it and I felt like I had wasted my time. I outlined it, but was really bad at outlining so I felt like it made it worse. I am more happy with it now, looking back on it. I was trying to draw something that meant something and not just the same standing pose I always did.
June : In this month I draw requests and sketches. My art was improving a lot though. I was still trying some harder more meaningful things and I was still working on anatomy. The drawing I chose for this month kinda shows my transition phase. It wasn't very good, but I was trying really hard. I was learning new things every day. I was still drawing with pencil and not really outlining my work. I just hated trying that because it always ruined my pictures.
July : I didn't do much in July. There was one thing I finished and that is the thing I chose for this month. I sis have a bit of a better grip on anatomy. I just had a hard time applying it.
August : I did a lot of requests this month. I also played around with outlining things. I used thick, cartoony outlines, that were different colours. And I really loved it. I actually enjoyed outlining my drawings like that. I was also trying to apply some anatomy, but I wasn't very good at it. The drawing that I chose for this month was the first one I used that outlining style on. I also used markers and coloured pencils to colour it. This was a real turning point in how I would start to colour things. I also was trying to improve my coloured pencil skills. I wasn't happy with them any more. I though the colours weren't bright enough and I need to learn the basics of shading.
September : I drew four things this month, but I was still learning. I was playing around a lot with markers and really enjoying it a lot. The picture I chose was a little drawing I did with markers and coloured pencils. I was very happy with how it turned out because I had always had trouble with faces.
October : I only drew two things this month and one of them was a sketch. I just didn't have any inspiration. The drawing I chose was one I wasn't very happy with as far as the body went. I was proud of the hair though.
November : Again, there weren't a lot of finished works this month, but I was definitely improving. I redrew one of my older works that I had done this year and drew some for myself. The drawing I chose for this month was one I did for me. I was playing around with my markers and decided to make her skin green. I was very happy with the result and still am.
December : So for, I have drawn quite a bit this month. I have also been experimenting with adding some digital aspects to my art. I am drawing with coloured pencils and markers and using thick outlines. I am also studying anatomy. Drawing faces is still one of my weaker points, but I'm trying to get better at that too. The drawing I chose is one that I did recently. I decided to do the background digitally.
Well, thanks for sticking with me this year! I hope for many more years of art to come. And much more improvement. Sorry for the giant wall of text.
And as always,
Have a nice day,

Yeah. There is a lot to look at when it comes to drawing and even anatomy. Sometimes it's frustrating.

I'm sorry for not giving a full criticism but it looks like nothing has changed like you're faces gotten a little better and the bodies too but after all that everything looks the same. Also your coloring gotten much better.

Oh it's fine. A lot of the pictures don't show full body and such. I feel like I have gotten better with anatomy and such.
Thank you for the comment on the colouring though.

Well you're better at anatomy than me. Also this may be me but try working with different types of head and faces because September and October looks the same kinda but then again they are old pieces.

I have a generic face that I use often. That's why they are both so similar. I like playing around with different face types though It's fun.

I love the one of your current icon? Is it a full piece or just an icon?

It's just that. Just a head. So.. I don't know. I used it as my icon though because I thought it was pretty.
