Description
She is the third gym leader who uses Fighting types and has Lucario as her ace, I forgot what her Diamond and Pearly gym is like but in Platinum you push punching bags along to break tire stacks to open paths. Honestly I find Lucario a bit of a challenge since they have a Steel typing since it neutralises Flying and Psychic type advantages although Chimchars line can be helpful due to using Fighting's advantage over steel (its kind of cool the gyms theme type is a counter for her ace). I remember her in the anime as she started feeling insecure after Paul beat her and bragged about how easily he did it and Dawn and Ash tried to help her get over it which was an interesting concept to see. Also in Platinum she actually goes up to Snowpoint city to train with the 7th gym leader which was a nice bonus touch =^-^=.

Pose wise the Fighting gym leaders tend to stand out since they all have fighting based stances, honestly the leg bends came out a lot better than I expected and I feel really proud of the pose over all. I also tried out a different pose with Lucario since this is my third drawing of him and apart from the mouth he came out pretty good (I feel the mouth looks a bit weird here o-o). The spiky hair of Maylene also came out better than expected as I thought the side points would end up looking wacky, for the colour I mixed Violet and pink which looks nice and came decently close to the original tone although I feel it should of been a bit more red.
Not going to lie the next gym leader may take me a bit to get into due to their design so sorry if I put the drawing off for a bit.
