So I decided to color one of my sketches of Pinkie and I wanted to try this style. It came out better than I expected. I may try it again sometime.Related content

So much stands out in this pic that reflects such a talented artist!
The art style holds much of the original identity of Pinkie while adding your personal flare of shape and proportion. The soft gradation gives dimension to what would have been flat in contrast to the show's original, giving Pinkie much more life and realism whilst retaining her cartoon-ish demeanor.
I also like Pinkie's new mane-style, albeit shorter, it still looks bouncy, super cute and totally fitting to her personality.
You used very rich colors that compliment and contrast with each other very well, maintaining Pinkie's classic palette of blues and pinks. The background doesn't wash out her form and brings out the richness in her eyes. Also the frame contrasts well with the overall picture.
Just a side story, I remember my art teacher telling me back in high school that one shouldn't draw the focus directly in the center because it prevents the flow of the eye wandering over the piece. Funny thing, some of the most popular and historical paintings had their focus smack-dab in the middle. Sometimes that's exactly where it needs to be. This doesn't detract from your drawing at all, just thought it'd be fun to share that experience. I just wish I could see what Pinkie sees that would merit such a vivacious smile! (probably Cheese Sammich :3 )
