Description
So i finally finished this, only because it was sitting beside me at work and i got bored enough to...there are parts i like, and others i hate. I didn't really do any finished pencils, just sketched and inked...to see it halfway through the progress check my scrapbook and you can see what the pencils looked like (You'll see that Gambit was pretty much done freehand with the inks after i changed the pose) I dunno, its not intended to make alot of sense, or be an exact accurate representation of the characters and their costumes, just practicing so no reference.(DOWNLOAD FOR FULLVIEW)

Nice!
Be cool to see Beast as separate figure in your style.

Nice work. I really like your portrayal of Phoenix. You do a good job of not making women too busty. Its so ridiculous looking at a chick who tits are bigger than her head. It gets a little tiring seeing that over and over again in comics. Plus your take on Iceman is fucking rad and Colossus' hair cut = BOSS

I love Collosus he looks bad ass here, the rest of them are still cool. I like to see more stylized characters. I don't always like when comic art is too realistic. But everyone's got their own opinions.

I don't know how you do that without reference. Do you have a sketchbook at conceptart.org?

Thanks, its taken a long time to get to the point where i am half assed happy with my no reference results, still not where i WANT to be tho. This is the only portfolio/sketchbook of mine online tho...not much to it tho because since high school i really haven't drawn or even sketched much at all, and during high school i didn't do much that i'd want to post lol. So the past 4 years (I'm 22 now) have been a write off pretty much. During school tho all i did everyday was draw constantly and sketch out of magazines, and thats what helped me alot with working up to using no reference.

I'm actually not doing any comic/art related work, suffering from a serious lack of motivation for quite some time and it takes me too long to draw to even think about submitting my work until i can keep up with what the schedule would be like, just a regular job at a print shop for now lol.

Can you tell me how you improved so much over the years without much practice?

lol i honestly have no idea, it doesn't make a lot of sense to me either, i guess its just having more experience viewing and observing people and objects and identifying the mistakes i've made in previous work and trying not to make the same ones again. I'm sure i'd be much more dynamic and better in alot of other areas that you can only get with drawing experience if i kept it up. I drew almost everyday after school all night from the time i was 5 till i was 16 or so then just kinda stopped and started turning out the odd picture here and there, sketching more than finished work, lots of pictures from photos in magazines. Now i've gotten away from that and im trying again to use that knowledge to work without reference. Now i know i should be drawing my ass off and trying to get doing some work with it, but the motivation is missing. Too many other hobbies and interests competing for my attention. lol

You are on the right path. I think you could easily get a job at Marvel or another Comic production. So give it a try

I'm in love with your style... it's the greatness!
Is the one with goggles Speedball? I've only seen him in a few comics, but I can't tell if it's really him xD!!

Thanks man, its actually Cannonball, who by now has probably been a member of every X-team imaginable lol but he's always been my favorite X-man and it actually started out as a picture just of him.
