Description
This is Gen, my favorite, and best character, from Street Fighter. Specifically, Street Fighter IV, where I am among the highest ranked Gen players, on TWO separate accounts lol. I drew him years ago but I felt like doing a new one real quick. First, Gen is the Japanese pronunciation of his name, which is Yuán/Yuan (tone 2 pronunciation), Chinese character of 元. In the main series, he is a retired assassin, who is canonically one of the most powerful characters in the series, and it is stated by several character that in his prime, he was the top dog. He's 70 and sick with leukemia by Street Fighter IV. Because of that, he's a frail character, only 900HP and 950 stun but he is exceptionally fast, has the best jump in the game (distance, height, and most of all, speed), and while his standard attacks are not particularly high damaging moves, his special moves, especially his super, the Cruel Shadow, and his ultra, the Severing Shadow, are exceptionally damaging. On a large character like Hugo or Sagat, Gen's crane jumping heavy punch, combo right into super, then ultra, does at least 650 damage.

Anyways, enough about that, he is in his Qing style qipao and with eyebrows and eyes. In the games, Gen has no eyebrows and his eyes are white, like the other mystical, magical characters, like Sagat, Bison, Akuma (his are solid red), Dhalsim, yadda yadda. So what is Gen's magic, well, his attacks strike pressure points and cut along your qi lines, the things that acupuncturists use to heal, he strikes them, killing his target. He also is immune to soul based magic because he is capable of emptying his soul. So finally, I drew this as an homage to Baimei (Paimei), the legendary martial artist of the early Qing dynasty. Baimei literally means 'white eyebrows', hence Gen's large, bushy eyebrows.
