Smudges!? I smudge all the time, but I use a #2 tech pencil and a small paper to rest under my hand to avoid messiness. Practice, plus I study every line in comics.

ya my art teacher told us that paper thing, i gotta start duplicating comic pages, i belive that the more you draw and understand somthing u get a a better feel for it, take my redman tribute for example, i drew that then after i can draw that pose with ease, than before it took forever
