You can, it just takes time and practice with obsrving linework and textures. I think laying down a solid composition is harder.

Hi Ryan! Sorry this is so late. Life intervenes. Anyway I took a look at your stuff and it's great! Where you stand overall is definitely above a normal person's drawing ability but all that talent needs some refining. Look closely at your proportions. Get back to basics and study your linework, and where to apply blacks and shadow in order to make forms pop.

I know you are doing animation styles but most animators are master illustrators. That's why they can accomplish so much with so little lines. That means you'd have to work backwords in this case and draw real life more. Study the body and it's motion in order to master drawing that kind of style with ease and make it look natural and flowing. I hope that helps. Good luck!
