Working in Korea helps cut down on the large airfare - so makes it easier to hop a flight over. Let me know if you ever plan to head back.
Honestly though - the new hotspot destination is Koh Samui (Samui Island). PAttaya is not the same now that the hordes of Euro-families have came over to visit (since the Phuket Tsunami). But I haven't been back to Phuket since before the tsunami - maybe it has become what Pattaya *WAS* back in the day.
The "college backpacker" place though is Samui Island and Krabi (more and more) over in the gulf of Thailand.
Up in Korat (were I hang my hat) - its still a nice place with friendly people (locals). Most foreignors there are adventure seekers or old European couples. No famly types. I always prefer to visit the TOMB RAIDER style ruins up there - over the beach life. That plus jungle trekking on Elephant-back (as opposed to horses), mountain climbing, hiking, waterfalls, cultural festivals. And of course they still have the booze and broads like down south - just not as obvious about it and fewer neon lights. It's like the "MINOR LEAGUES" for hookers. They learn their craft there and move on down south.
Lastly - Korat is CHEAP! No BS overinflated prices like down south. Only place I need to still hit up is the Northwest corner (Chang Mai area).
PS - Lob Buri - monkey city - up near Korat - is the FRIGGIN BOMB! Hundereds of temples with millions of monkeys roaming free to steal anything that ain't nailed down! LOL! Monkeys are always funny - if they had midgets there too - I'd retire now and move to Lob Buri and die laughing.

Yes! That's exactly what I was going for-I heard Image and Dark Horse were taking FULL submissions and If they liked what you did, of course, then you had to produce a WHOLE comic book EVERY month! I was thinking more along the lines of a "tri-monthly" graphic novel. I'm finding it real difficult to get my 27+ done/of course it's my own fault with all the procrastination and the "Oh I can draw this better now" syndrome!!
