Description
Hi! This is pretty much a sketch dump from me, but I wanted to make it useful, so I'm going to give some tips I have learned over my time drawing and what-not.I don't know if this will be long, or even helpful or whatever, but here goes.
1~ Hair
This is the hair I drew after reading the assignment from TheDrawingAcademy. I didn't have enough time for anything else.
When drawing hair you should have fun in designing it, but you have to remember that people have hair lines, which is where the hair grows from (duh). When the hair is originating from the hair line, like it should, it looks much better than when it's growing from nowhere. Feel free to use these hairstyles, as I didn't come up with them or anything.
2~ Faces
This is a bunch of sketches I done on one page. I love drawing lips and eyes, and there are some noses there, too. When sketching it's okay to stuff up (duh, again) because you can learn from it. You can see I stuffed up on the first nose I drew there, but I drew another good one right under it. And the eyes to the bottom left of the "Ur faec" section were drawn so I could choose which type I would draw for Aqua (from my Kingdom Hearts fanart). Drawing out different shaped noses, eyes and mouths, and maybe even chins and what-not, is a very good idea in my opinion; it opens up your variety of faces and you will, in the end, be designing loads of different faces.
3~ Poses
In my opinon, poses are super fun! There is a program called Pose Maniacs that I heard of where the program gives you a pose of the human figure (muscles only, I think) and next to it is a drawing pad. You have to take down the pose within 30, 60 or 90 seconds. I haven't got the program myself, but I did some off YouTube. xD
Anyway, it's a fantastic way to get your own drawing rythm (I learned that of =BittersweetDisease 's tuts, she's awesome), which helps you get your own style! Cool, right?
Other than that, you can people draw. Go out with a sketch pad and pencil and draw people. I don't know if they will mind, but hey, whatever. ;D
4~ Chibis
This part is just so I could put some chibis up.
Nah, I have a tip. When drawing chibis, simplify the details. On these guys, Sora and Riku, (I was going to do a lame joke that involved Sora in a tutu, but I gave up) I tried to keep the details simple. Especially on Sora, because of all his buckles and crap. If you can find a way to make the details simpler, but keep it looking like the characer, that's great. And keep in mind these are chibis, so alot of the time the bodies don't give off who a character is, but the hair does; especially with a Square Enix character.
And one more tip; when sketching, have fun! Design some crazy crap, and if you like it alot, upload it to dA! You can always scrap it later. In fact, I will most likley scrap this later...
Thank you for reading, if you did. And comment on my sketches, if you want. I don't throw tantrums at critiquers.
