Description

(sigh) Here goes nothing.

Well folks. This is this. It's been exactly 6 months after it's been informed online (especially by the notorious animation news website - Cartoon Brew), that Chris Savino - who created Nickelodeon's recent hit show "The Loud House" (as well a big veteran of TV animation, as you can see in one of my drawings there Chris Savino's TV Animation Path ), has been fired from all sexual harassment and misconduct, that he's been accused from, after being suspended from his job 2 days earlier. (yeah, time flies quite fast, doesn't it?)

Now about the drawing above, it mostly express on frustration of these shocking news, in which myself and a lot of fans of The Loud House (maybe even some of the cast and crew) has witnessed so suddenly. As you can probably noticed, it looks similiar to a picture of Mickey Mouse consoling Kermit over death of Jim Henson or that fanart of Mickey Mouse and Kermit consoling Roger Rabbit over Bob Hoskins's death (who played Eddie Valiant) jaymzeecat.deviantart.com/art/…
With this piece however, the circumstances here are quite different.

Lincoln here, who's shocked and depressed, that the creator of a show, in which he and his family stars in, has done heinous sex crimes; also wonders, is the whole controversy would negatively effect the show. He basically represents fans's (maybe even crew members's) disapointment, that they feel over this controversy.
On right and left, Rocko from "Rocko's Modern Life" and Arnold from "Hey Arnold", who are consoling Lincoln over this whole news.

Why Rocko and Arnold here? Well, for starters, Chris Savino used to worked on both Rocko and Hey Arnold in their original run (On the former, he worked as a Character & Prop Designer on seasons 1-3 (as you can see him in this promo www.youtube.com/watch?v=5vLDMa… ); while at latter, he worked as a storyboard director (particulary on "False Alarm" episode), prop designer, background designer and character designer during its first season) and giving the fact, that Nickelodeon was still working on both "The Jungle Movie" and "Stating Cling" TV movies, the creators of both of these shows were quite aware of all this revelation at the studio. So I can say, that Rocko and Arnold represents Joe Murray and Craig Barlett sharing their sadness with LH fans. Altrough, I haven't seen anywhere about Craig Barlett sharing his thoughts about all this online, but I can imagine him also being disapointed as well. Joe Murray on his public facebook, posted his thoughts over the Cartoon Brew article, which it first informed about this story; later on the comments, after CartoonBrew has been confirmed fired, he sure didn't hide his disappointment for sure  www.facebook.com/JoeMurrayStud… , I can especially see that with one of his comments below "It always saddens me when anyone resorts to this behavior, but yes especially when it's someone I've worked with and been friends with in the past. And yes, I've had personal bad experiences with Cartoon Brew as have many who are cartoon creators and seem to be fair game. But I never want to discount anyone coming forward. "

Although, around the time of that fiasco, there was this bullcrap that Cartoon Brew has pulled out, for which some of my friends and I, find it truly asinine  cornellsun.com/2017/10/25/chri…

And let me clarify obvious thing, this drawing doesn't mean, that I pity the guilty one. It's about coping with the harsh, sad truth, that could be hard to accept; and for of many people as well. Despite all this trouble, at least we should be thankful, that for many of his good work in animation, especially for broughting up the show, which we know and love. Also thankfully, this show is succesful enough, that not even this controversy would not damage any plans with this show (I'm sure, that despite his rightful firing, Chris believes that the crew will keep doing a great job with all these plans this new season and onward). I'll keep looking forward of The Loud Crew, or should I say, The Loud Family will have to offer in present and the future.

It's disgraceful that he did this! When TLH premiered, I really got into it and consider it one of the best Nicktoons since Hey Arnold (which I think they should do a crossover of). I really like the positive messages and the love the family has for each other despite their major differences, as well as the fact that they included same sex couples. I considered it groundbreaking and there's so much I've been able to identify with.

Then when I heard the news, I was pretty shocked! I wondered why he could make such a beautiful cartoon with such likeable characters and great voice actors and then turn out to be this kind of person! It was pretty messed up!

I'm just glad the show has managed to prosper without him since then.

I know, it's pretty hard to think about it all ('I'm not mad, I'm just disappointed'). Back then I've tried to deny it, but after seeing many tweets actually 'celebrating' the news, it got even depressing, like 'oh no, these people knew'. And it hurts to coming back to that painful experience.

Yes, I'm also glad that the show still goes on very well, even after all what happened; although I wouldn't mind so much, if someday they would let Savino working in animation, especialy if would really change himself for a better and learned his lesson; or at least publishing his own comics or somethin' like that; even if it's seems very doubtful.

PS I don't think they should make a crossovers to Hey Arnold or any other Nicktoons (it's fine if you wanna write a fanfic or draw around this idea); the universe of The Louds seems fine without it.

Yeah. It's a real shame. Sometimes it makes me wonder about people whether or not anyone cares about right and wrong anymore.

Have you read the fan fiction The Hand That Rocks? It's where Luna comforts Lincoln after learning that the creator of Ace Savvy had been fired.

I've noticed that one before, but I refuse to read it / fully check it out. I'm convinced, that a fic like this would leave me a poor taste on my mind (especially the commenters who just there to shit on Savino all over again), even though if this fic itself doesn't literally adress of 'the inspiration'. Please leave those fanfictions out of me.

A similar thing happened to John Krisfaluci (Ren and Stimpy creator) before Savino was fired.

I know, but that's About that he was fired from Nick that's been known for a long time (although the reasons were varied from John and his former collagues), but the stories of him having creepy young girl relationship were (I assume) mostly seen rumors, then with more people were speculating on it and finally that Buzzfeed article broke the camel's back for many of us, when it comes to this man;although this man's atribution to animation is still quite influential, both good and bad  (14:12-19:12) www.youtube.com/watch?v=y5isW_…

I was thinking to insert Ren and Stimpy (including the fact that it the 1st show that Chris worked on), but the more I think about it, it felt overcrowded and confused the message, so I scratched that. I may do a little sketch based of on what I said to Redgra (search the rest of this comment section), but that's it for now. Still quite a kathartic drawing and I'm sure it is for some other people as well.

I do still hope no other cartoonist does such things ever again.

Well, at least Lincoln is not the only charater to go through that, Ren and Stimpy went through a similar indcent.

Nice job with the expression and message.

Actually, I originally thought of adding the two into the picture on the far right (if you look close enough, there are still some traces left), but it would it feel overcrowded (and then I have to add XJ9, which it would all Nicktoons, that Chris has worked in the past).
Besides, I guess if I could make a similar sketch around John K fiasco, I would have Lincoln cringed and suprised at the news, then turning to titular characters, trying to ask them all about the jazz, but pissed Ren cuts Lincoln's question by telling loudly, that they knew all along already, while Stimpy is in shear disappointment and sorrow. Something like that, but I don't feel like doing this picture (for now). It's too fresh and also, with John K, it's NOT as shocking as some other accused "Weinstein Effect" men, but still disapointing.
