I can't believe I had this sketched out for a whole year, and never finished it until now. I made it when I first played 'Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon'. I still recommend that game, by the way.
It's about time I brought back my lovable koopa for a few drawings, I forgot how much fun it is to draw him. I tried to go all out with lighting in this one, trying to emphasize the interior of an abandoned mansion. Along the way I picked up a couple of new tricks for the inking phase which I'm definitely gonna use from now on, even if it takes me a tad longer to finish. Also, I know the candle is too bright to be real, but if I did it realistically nothing would be visible, so. 
I was gonna have him capturing a ghost but I changed my mind at the end, and decided to have him creeping around the mansion instead. Don't look now, but I think something's behind that door.

What's best about this picture is how you blended the gradient with all the colours and textures according to the light source. Very. Well done!

He's also a bit bigger than I wanted, he's suppose to be the size of other koopas so the door is a bit small, so lets just assume he ate a mushroom. :m

The lighting is quite nice in this piece. Besides, with your style, you don't really need to aim for total realism! What you have as the end result is a good piece that reflects the atmosphere that you are establishing.

Thanks! I think I'm gonna adopt more photoshop lighting effects into my future works and see if it enhances the piece like in this one.
