Description ( No. 13 of 50 )

Hi all, my latest piece. It wasn't suppose to be like this. I wanted to draw Howl and Sophie but in the end, I ended up in this.

Many artists had drawn him with yellow hair, but personally I loved his dark blue hair. Hope you guys love it too!

This is quite a lazy piece of work too.

haha okay thanks for the watch! I'll start drawing him when I get my free time. I've been learning how to play Howl's Moving Castle's theme song in the piano that's why I haven't started drawing another one yet

Not a problem.. Ohh... Trying to get inspiration? Haha! I'm running low on inspiration and don't know what to draw. -_-

IrethLeonhart In reply to Rukawa-11 [2009-09-03 03:10:39 +0000 UTC]

Well I don't know if you'd call that inspiration.. I really didn't have piano lessons when I was a kid, I just learned to play the piano on my own (that's why I'm not so good with reading sheets but I try) But still, I can play the song now, I just have to study the 2nd half of it which will probably take a few more days

Arr... There is one song from Laputa, Castle in the Sky. You might wanna learn it's piano.

[link]

I wanted to learn piano since young, but I waited for my parents to buy me a piano till now. Too old to learn anymore... And the worst is, looking at the music scroll.

Haha. That's really nice to be able to learn and play by yourself. *Admiresss*

Ohh, I've just seen it. It's nice. Darn he really is good isn't he? I mean Joe Hisaishi.

I regret not having piano lessons when I was a kid I even wanted to learn ballet! But well, you know, we can't have everything we wanted that time. And even now. And yeah, I'm also too old to learn and play like an expert. But we can still try! It's hard though :laughter:

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Rukawa-11 In reply to IrethLeonhart [2009-09-05 12:32:49 +0000 UTC]

Joe Hisaishi is another talented man working for Miyazaki. He did most of the songs for his films. I really think that it's an honor to have Hisaishi to compose for Miyazaki and likewise. oooohh... I'm so mesmerised....

Yeah.... Piano lessons are expensive and the Music score would have killed me and land me in even more worst spectacle condition. Hmmm, therefore, rather than having an expensive interest, I went for the cheaper one, which is drawing! Yay!

Ok, sometimes drawing can be expensive. The only musical instrument I can play is recorder... Hehe!

yup. Their music and films go well together.

Haha it is cheap and yet people make money from it. Like biiiiiig money About it being expensive, yeah also true. Materials and stuff sometimes cost a lot. Even framing a painting sometimes is so expensive

Rukawa-11 In reply to IrethLeonhart [2009-09-06 09:22:20 +0000 UTC]

Maybe that's why they always worked together to push each other's popularity.

Yeah... The biiiiig money part comes in when one is reallllly good in it.
Haha, framing the paintings part, I've not done it... I wish someday I can do something that I will be proud of and frame it up then hang it in my room. Oh welllll...

You frame your drawings?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

IrethLeonhart In reply to Rukawa-11 [2009-09-06 18:12:37 +0000 UTC]

I've framed some. The big ones are quite expensive. I had like 2 or 3 of those big frames, one of the paintings was a painting of the Great Wall of China. An aunt said she'd sell it and found a buyer, but.. I don't know what has happened to it now. I never asked again. But I wish I still had that so I could hang it around the house. The other paintings were of a small baby girl and a landscape with 3 moons and mountains and fields. And hmm, from way back when I was a teenager, a still life drawing of mine from school was framed.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Rukawa-11 In reply to IrethLeonhart [2009-09-08 06:22:55 +0000 UTC]

Yeah definitely. Haha! I haven't framed any of my drawings yet. Maybe I would do a real painting on canvas then frame it. Cos I find it really weird to have a printed drawing enlarged and framed. Haha!

But the thing is, I donno wad to draw. You mean someone is interested to buy the Great Wall of China which you painted? Thats nice! But sadly it isn't there anymore?

Seems that you've drawn alot since young. Haha. I'm lacking of creativity in drawings which I'm very vexed about recently. Haha. A still life was framed? That's nice! I have a drawing which won the first prize for the 'Racial Harmony' contest in school, but now I don't know where is it. Haha.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

IrethLeonhart In reply to Rukawa-11 [2009-09-08 06:30:13 +0000 UTC]

Wow I've never done that. Have it enlarged and framed. It wouldn't be the original then if you enlarge it isn't it?

Yeah she said someone was gonna buy it. I didn't get the money though. Even for the other one she sold. hehe. It's okay..

Yup, I've started drawing even before 1st grade I think. And my compilation of drawings are from 2nd grade or so. I lost the others I kinda like drawing still life as well. But I like drawing humans the most. ahaha! Wow good for you! and bad, because you now don't know where it is.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Rukawa-11 In reply to IrethLeonhart [2009-09-08 06:57:29 +0000 UTC]

Haha, yeah, it wouldn't be original anymore. The pixels are just, there. Haha!

Ohh... Maybe she kept it. Draw another one? Hehe. I think that to have someone buying our painting willl be so nice... I will thank that person for buying. Haha!

Haha! I loved to draw animals. I started drawing at the age of 2. But of cos, those were not up to standard. But by 10yrs old, I'm drawing stuff that most guys cant draw at the same age. Haha. Then I get slower and slower and slower.

I don't know how to draw humans at first, then slowly, I learned during secondary school, which I'm not sure equvilent to how old your side. But then I was about 15yrs old. Haha

Time flies. OMG! I think it's sitting on a rocket!

IrethLeonhart In reply to Rukawa-11 [2009-09-08 07:06:29 +0000 UTC]

I don't know. Maybe she did. Haha! Geez it takes such a long time to paint a big one like that. It's 21" by something I think. I forgot. by 15" maybe.

Yeah I know what you mean. I still remember how I used to draw before. Just took a whole page from a notebook, drew hair on the sides of the page, added some bangs, face, eyes and others and voila. Ugly girl But my dad didn't mind. They didn't mind! ahahaha and so there. I continued.

I see. Hmm, I guess I've been drawing humans ever since I started drawing. Even stick people and animals too. My teacher in first grade like my human drawings with animals. I just drew what I saw. Because she made us draw what was in the book, and there it was.

LOL! That's like slightly above A3? Between A3 and A2? Haha
That's big.

hahahaha! So practically the whole piece of paper is the face? Haha. I used to draw humans with big round heads and small body! OMGoodness. LOL!

Haha. Everytime I would finish a drawing with some colours on it and will bring it to my dad and ask, "Pa, how much do you think this will worth?" I always wanted an answer like $10 or something. But his reply was, "$0.50" I was 5 yrs old then. -_-

Ohh... thats good! Haha. Drawing from something is so boring. I always liked to draw from my imagination. My frens always asked me. "Aei! How you draw that?" Then I will just reply, "Just draw what you see and think loh (Singlish)" Haha!

IrethLeonhart In reply to Rukawa-11 [2009-09-08 14:27:15 +0000 UTC]

I don't know if it's above that, all I know is it's big. And heavy. I have like 2 of those, and then one smaller than that, and another one smaller than that. Oh and a small sketch book. Haha! But I rarely draw on paper these days.

Yup. The whole piece of paper is the face. And then I started making my own paper dolls. Biiiiig ones. And my aunt said her co-workers were amazed with my dolls whenever they came to visit. That, I never knew when I was a kid. I guess I was busy with my dolls?

Hahahaha what the heck $0.50? How mean The baby girl I first got framed here in the US was sold for 50 bucks. Its around 12" or something by something But I never got the money either. And the big ones, 120-150 bucks I think.

I think my drawing back then was what saved me from failing 1st grade. Haha! I was still dumb when I first started because I skipped kindergarten. But I learned eventually like in the half of the school year so I really didn't fail Good thing I got better as time progressed otherwise...

Rukawa-11 In reply to IrethLeonhart [2009-09-09 07:07:15 +0000 UTC]

Oh... That whole paragragh is rather confusing. Haha. Maybe not. Eh... So mostly you draw on computer now? I think I still like the feeling of drawing on paper. Just that it's in black and white. Haha.

LOL! That's cute. I loved to play with Lego last time. And something gay, which is Origami. Haha. I tried making a Predator when I was young. I made Akuma from Street Fighter when I was 11 yrs old for a school work. But it was destroyed big time! LOL

Yeah! That's my dad, for your info. Haha. Singaporeans will never do such things as selling their own paint when they were small. Maybe it's your culture over there to promote yourselves and be proud of it. Really. I think it's good. Oh. So you draw to sell? That's really incredible.

Haha! So you're more like an art student as well? Art is always the highest score for me when I'm in my primary and secondary. Hehe. Yeah... Agreed. I only failed one subject when I'm in my Primary school years. But failed quite alot when in the Secondary school. After that, I started to pick up and failed lesser subject.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

IrethLeonhart In reply to Rukawa-11 [2009-09-09 15:54:11 +0000 UTC]

Yup. I just don't have time to paint on paper anymore. But I'm thinking I might draw something using charcoal. And I've just got an idea what the subject might be

Awwww destroyed? Poor Akuma hahaha!

Hmmm, it's not really culture to sell it. I've never done it before when I was in the Philippines. Only when I got here in the US did they tell me to paint and sell because it was actually for a hospital. I meant those paintings. They were actually submissions for design on the walls there, and then eventually that friend of my aunt's suggested I should paint them big, frame it, so atleast when they don't pick the design, I could sell it. Before then I didn't really think my drawings were that nice, to be sold. Haha! But I was surprised they liked it >_<

I've thought of making a living out of painting before but it really is tiresome. Some people think it's not tiring to just sit and paint, but heck, it's really a pain sometimes. Even in the back of the neck!

If you meant art student as in someone who likes the art subject, yes I'm that. But if you're referring to art student as in someone who's an art major for example, or concentrating on studying art and it's various forms, sadly I'm not that. Haha! But I thought of taking fine arts as my college course before. But I ended up with computer programming and another course, IT. About failing, crap I don't like failing. I think I'm afraid to fail subjects. Good thing I didn't fail any

Rukawa-11 In reply to IrethLeonhart [2009-09-10 02:18:22 +0000 UTC]

OH! What is it that you wanna draw with charcoal? Haha, I suppose the other bad side of drawing it on paper or on a larger scale, we can't scan it into the computer. Haha

It's really a poor Akuma, destroyed in the cupboard.

lol wow! Yeah, sometimes I find it really weird that people do like our stuff when we find it not really nice to be praise. Like I did a wedding montage for my colleague and everyone find it very nice but I find that there are still alot of room for improvement. Haha

Oh... I see I see. I think somehow for these places, they won't really need extremely good artists' works where they have to spend a lot of money on but those moderate ones that people would like. Hehhhh... Haha

Haha! Well, in Singapore, my relatives would say that people would die for art. If i'm ever to be in the art industry, I will starve to death. Haha! Yeah, I think that painting sitting down is quite tiring. Maybe standing will be better? Haha.

Ohhh.. So you didn't get to major in art. But I can say that to study art history is a rather boring thing to do. Haha. An art loving student ended up in Computer and IT stuff is quite weird. Haha. But as long as it's something you like, it should be fine. Haha. Yeah, and I failed 1 subject in polytechnic. That sucks.

IrethLeonhart In reply to Rukawa-11 [2009-09-10 03:13:08 +0000 UTC]

I was thinking maybe I should draw black haired Howl with charcoal. Or maybe something else Maybe something good to send with the package I will be sending overseas. It's quite messy though. Darn the charcoal. But really good results. Haha! and yeah! You're right about that, can't scan it >_< I forgot about that! I tried fitting my charcoal drawing in the scanner, atleast I somehow got it scanned because it wasn't the 22" pad I used. But I think the one in my gallery wasn't scanned, the scanned version was terrible because it was so big so I took a pic of it instead

[link] ( I know this one isn't that good but it was the very 1st charcoal drawing I did )

Yeah, when they're like "wow that's nice", I'm like "ehh?"

I don't know, they spend like $28,000 for a wall to get done by an art student, then maybe $3,000-$5,000 on framed paintings. Nice huh?

Maybe they think like that because it's not a stable profession? Like you only get hits when someone needs something painted or drawn. If you stand, the back of your neck will hurt even more Plus, add your legs. haha!

Yup, I didn't get major. Too bad. But I think, even if people don't get major in art, if they pursue it on their own and try to develop it plus advices from other artists and suggestions and constructive criticism, oh and add experimentation, yes, they might get better. Because some people are just born with it. I don't know, I've seen some who are like, just so good with it even without knowing art history

I actually didn't know much about computers before. ahaha! I was afraid I'd break it or something. But I learned! yay! And atleast I learned how to draw digitally But I actually wanted to take law when I was a kid. Or psychology

Rukawa-11 In reply to IrethLeonhart [2009-09-10 09:00:24 +0000 UTC]

arrr... maybe you can try charcoal and paint or colour pencil for Howl. However, we will need certain strength to control the light and dark parts of the shades. There is a spray where it will keep the dust stick to the paper. I forgot what is it called. Fixative? Haha.

Yeah, I won't wanna dirty my scanner with the charcoal. So taking a picture will be the best. Haha.

Yup, saw this Hyde drawing before. Some details are quite hard to achieve with charcoal. So i thought you did it with pencil too. Sorry.

Goodness!!! In Singapore will be a totally different story. They will try to get it with the lowest amount as possible. Haha.

Yeah, I think so. It's kinda different from Designing work. Design can be consistant, but being an artist will never be consistant. Haha. Is it? I thought standing will only affect the legs. Hmmm. I think standing has a better view, no?

Haha. Yeah, I think so. I also believe that art history is just something that teaches you about the past artist from last time and how they came out with their interpretation of their art. But that doesn't really help in developing our own art style or skill.
I think that art is something that needs improvement and experiments like you've mentioned. I'll just try to learn as much as possible to bring up my own standard.

LOL. I think kids or when we're young, we would tend to think that these things are cool. From young, I would always wanted to be a creative director. But when they ask me, what creative director does, I said, "I don't know". Haha!
I just want to be someone who does drawings and designing.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

IrethLeonhart In reply to Rukawa-11 [2009-09-10 15:38:25 +0000 UTC]

I don't think charcoal and paint would be good.. it might turn out messier I don't know what to use yet, maybe color pencil or something.

Oh it did girty. But I got it off. I just wiped it. Besides, I wiped the drawing with tissue before I scanned it. But it still gives off the mess hehe.

There's nothing to apologize for. It's okay. I looked at it and it did look like some pencil was used.

What? The lowest amount? Haha they must be nuts. It's a painting, not just some drawing. The artist put time and effort in it so if they think they could get it cheap, well..

Yeah design does seem like a stable work. Or maybe not? Because you still have to wait for clients to want and need your help or something? But compared to being an artist, it is more stable Hmm maybe if you're painting using an easel, standing would have a better view. But I don't have one I paint anywhere, in the kitchen, in the room, in my bed.. Wherever there is no one else, or atleast I'm free to put my stuff anywhere. Because I've got lots of stuff including paint and the biiiiig pad where I paint

Maybe you already have your own standard, you just haven't realized it yet

Hahaha! What I knew about law was that, I wanted to become a lawyer to protect people. When I used to watch things on TV like when there's a victim of some kind, I was always muttering about what they should do blah blah blah And that's when I wanted to be a lawyer. But then when I got older, I learned that when you're a lawyer, you're not always on the good side. Sometimes the suspects and criminals would come to you for help as well. And even sometimes, those who became suspects but are totally innocent about the whole thing would also need your help. Sheesh. Such trouble.

Yeah, maybe. Faber Castell is a good choice I think.

Charcoal is indeed too much of a hassle. Haha

Yeah, they would probably get some poly students or some freelancers outside with a small amount and expect high quality. Haha!

Haha, if being a designer for a certain company, the pay is standard and will come in every month, that's why it's stable in a way. Haha. As I think, be it if there is nothing to do at all, we still get the pay coming in. Ohh.. Haha, so we misunderstood each other. I meant painting on an easel. Haha. I can only paint when I have proper equipments, if not the things just won't come in.

Haha, my standard is for people to rate. My improvement is for me to keep going forward. Haha

Yeah, being a lawyer don't only stand on the right side, but also the bad side. In a way, they were scolded and praised at the same time. Haha. But I think it's a good job. Good money at least.

IrethLeonhart In reply to Rukawa-11 [2009-09-10 17:44:23 +0000 UTC]

Oh yes they're good. But expensive I've had Faber Castell paints though. But I think Reeves is better when it comes to their watercolor. I guess I just have my way of using color pencils so even if they're not as good as Faber Castell's, they'd still come out nice.

Yes too much of a hassle.

Because those students would need the money. They're so mean.

Hahaha! I see. Hmm, I've never used an easel before, really. So I guess I don't know how it feels like to use one. And the pains you get when you use one

Oh and did you know, someone just commented on my Howl drawing. Says that the bg looks like it's Miyazaki's, and Howl on the front looks flat and lifeless. He said he can't believe it's my work He's one of the people you watch, he's from Singapore as well. I told him that I used a reference for the bg, and another ref for Howl. And like I've just told you some minutes ago I like mixing stuff together didn't I? So may it be mediums or coloring style, I mix them together. He thinks it's just a rip off the net But basically, I experimented with Howl there and based the bg on the ref. How sad

It's expensive? I used to have alot of that. But my brother always spoils them, which made me stop buying it. -_-
I don't really have their paint. Hmmm. Haven heard of Reeves. Haha, I hope so.

Haha. Yup. These people see the need in these people and got them in at a low price. It's either they do or find someone else. Haha

haha. I think that using an easel, mus make sure that the paint cannot be too wet. If not, the paint will be dripping down. Haha!

Oh.. I saw the comment already. I added him because we're just fellow Singaporeans. Hmmm. Well, maybe you can provide some raw work of how you did that background, he might believe? Haha. I was really surprised if you did it on your own or something. I was so sure it was a rip off too until you told me. Haha!

IrethLeonhart In reply to Rukawa-11 [2009-09-11 04:28:34 +0000 UTC]

Yeah whenever I see them I get shocked by the price so I barely buy that brand. Their paint is the only thing I've had from that line, or I think a pencil as well. Reeves has a blue cover. I don't know if they sell it there though but they're also good.

They just know that the art students need that for tuition. Tsk. But imagine if it was $28,000.. crap. I'd have money to buy plane tickets and go to places! That's just one wall. And if you get hired to do 3 or 6 That's more than a million in Philippine pesos!

Oh that's a disadvantage though. Like for some paintings, where you just use one color but different shades, some strokes need lots of water. And like you mentioned, if it's too wet, it will drip down I guess I prefer sitting down on a chair and painting on top of a table. That's where I face back-of-the-neck problems though

Hahahaha! No explaining seems to hit him and I don't want to debate with him anymore. Besides, I'm sick today and I don't want to give my head more reasons to ache. Plus I'm suffering from dysmenorrhea I wouldn't want that to add more to vomiting

Arr.. I see I see.. And it's been some time since I last used colour pencils to colour my stuff... Haha! But I really wish to try painting. Haha! Which brand of paint do you recommend?
Reeves, I'll check it out. Haha. It's also watercolour pencil. Wooo. I've not seen it here in Singapore before. Maybe it's new? Haha.

Lol! Yeah! They are really generous in paying for art eh. But I believe that the art standard there is very good. If they are able to get really good artists. I wish I had the opportunity.

Haha. Thats a more chinese or asian way of painting. I used to do chinese painting. It's all on the table. I think for those that does it on an easel, would more likely to be dry paints like pastels and acrylic paint. Yeah, I believe so, as you will need to bend forward most of the time. Haha.

Ar... I see. Then don't care about him anymore. Lol. Don't get yourself hurt more. Maybe you should rest abit more.
Is it that the Grave of the Fireflies gave you quite a bit of headache? Haha

IrethLeonhart In reply to Rukawa-11 [2009-09-11 05:50:34 +0000 UTC]

Yeah you should try painting. But color pencils are easier to use. But if you're after the effects, some of them are hard to achieve using color pencils. That's why I had to decide when I should use them.

Hmmm about paint, well, Reeves was the only one I got comfy using. But sometimes, you know those normal water colors sold at stores? I use them too. They look nice sometimes. It's not a watercolor pencil though. Just watercolor. I have a watercolor pencil, but I've never used it to color my drawings because I wasn't satisfied with the effects. If they have Faber Castell paints there, it's also good. But their containers are just so small and, hmm if you try mixing colors, it's not as good as Reeves. You could try using acrylic paint as well. I use some of those mixed with Reeves

They're not new. I first found them when I was in Sri Lanka, and I was there from year 2000 to 2003

Yeah you said it. I was dreaming of being given the opportunity as well as I needed the money. I guess they chose real art students studying in New York as I'm not a student anymore and I've already graduated.

Wow. How was it? What did you draw for chinese painting? Oh I've just realized! I think an easel would be best for charcoal drawings!

Yeah I've been resting the whole day. It sucks too because I can't get my drawing started >_< I have so many ideas but the cramps and headache keep me from getting started. No, no that didn't give me a headache. I just cried a little. Just a little! I told that story to my mom some hours ago, she was surprised and was also sad about the story.

I've tried markers, I've done a lot on colour pencils. Painting is the only thing that I've not really touched on. I know too little about painting. It's time I try when I got the time. Haha

Oh. I see. If possible, I would take a look at Reeves and get a set. Acrylic is expensive isn't it? Haha. I'm afraid my room will get more messy as I get things like paint stuff into it. I'll get more cupboards to store stuff then I get my painting stuff. Haha! But I need to have ideas on what to paint first.

Oh, so it's only sold in Sri Lanka? And how come you're in Sri Lanka for 3 years? Studies?

Don't worry, you still have your basics. There might still be chance that they might find you through introduction. Hehe

ohh.. So now did you get your drawings done? Haha. I suppose you've recovered? Oh... Just a little? The second half of the whole show I suppose.
Haha, telling her is not enough. She has to watch it to be really sad.

I see. Hmmm what I don't like using the most is oil pastels. I don't know, I find it hard to keep them clean sometimes especially when there are dark colors needed. I've tried wiping their tips before I used them, but they still get dirty. The ones I did with pastel, I had them covered in another paper so that their colors won't stick to other drawings.

Hmmm I think they're expensive because of the size? They're really big Or atleast the set I have is big. I only have a tool box to keep all of my painting stuff in. Good thing they all fit there. It'll only get messy if you're the kind of artist who's like throwing the brush away on the paper or something like that

Not only there. The ones I have now I've bought here in the US. In the art stores. I was there because my parents were working there, and the aunt who was looking after us in the Phils was going to the US at that time. That's why they took us with them and made us study there for 3 years. After 3 years, I guess we were big enough, and my brother mature enough to take care of both me and my sister

I don't think so. The renovation there was done a year ago, or maybe not. I really don't have news from that aunt who took the paintings anymore about the paintings and the walls. So maybe they've chosen someone already to do the job.

Nope. I was trying to start yesterday, but I couldn't. There were too many ideas that I guess, they all got me confused Hahaha! Okay not just a little. I know it's better if she watches it, but I think, she wouldn't want to watch a cartoon even if it's in English, or, even if the live action, she'd fall asleep reading the subs

Oh.. But I find that oil pastels are able to give out a very special texture when under the light. It's almost 3D. People said it's very hard to control. Right? Painting the ocean with it is very cool! Haha. Clean as in the paint clean or around you?

Oh... Because my room isn't very big. And I don't have alot of cupboards around. Haha! Ehhhh, I think I'm a guy who can't stand untidiness. So, that would not happen. haha!

I see... So what do you actually study there? And for 3 years is really crazy. I think it will be hard for me to get used to it. Haha. What are your parents working as?

Hmmm... Maybe one day you might be asked to do something like this when you get more well-known. Hehe

Yeah! I believe that too much ideas would get us confused. I was once confused when I have too many ideas on what to illustrate. But after I settled on one, I forgot about the rest. Haha!

Haha! Don't worry, she will learn on the way.
When she really found out the purpose of watching shows that has meanings.

Yeah, when they're used well, the result is just so pretty. I don't know if they find it hard to control as well, but I had some troubles with it. Like that Kingdom Hearts drawing I did. I really didn't like how it came out. I just wanted to experiment that time though. That's why I used pastels and color pencils I meant the oil pastels being clean. When they accidentally stick to a darker color, they get dirty easily. Or, when you're in the process of coloring and you accidentally smudge a dark color part with a light one, it gets dirty easily.

My room's not very big either. Actually, I share the room with my parents and my sister. Apparently, 4 of my grandma's children live here, plus the spouses and the children There are a lot of people here. But we're planning to buy our own house. Too crowded here and very little space.
Wow that's amazing. Good thing you like it clean, some guys just don't care

I studied there from 6th grade, then secondary school. They had grade 7, grade 8, and I didn't finish grade 9. I moved back to the Phils by that time. Hmmm I think it's not that hard to get used to it. Besides, they taught us how some changes in words would be. Like for schedule, they pronounce it as shedyule. Or something like that and for vegetables, something like vegitables
They've worked in garment factories for many years now. Hmmm my mom gets the manager position most of the time, but right now she's the QC of a clothing line. My dad, uhmmm I don't know what exactly his work is here. haha!

I hope so. And probably you will too

Hahaha! I think that's the only problem we get when starting on a drawing. Like in writing an essay. It's sometimes difficult to start, but once you get it started, it just flows and you're able to write more.

Yeah, sometimes she finds really good movies on TV as well. It's surprising how the titles sometimes don't catch your attention at first, but once you watch it, wow. Just amazing

Rukawa-11 In reply to IrethLeonhart [2009-09-17 04:17:58 +0000 UTC]

I see. So that's a mix of mediums again. If the colours are spread evenly, it will be nice. Haha
You mean the brush gets dirty easily or the painting gets dirty easily? Haha.

Oh! 4 person in a room? That must be hard. Maybe the room is big but because when there are 4 people in it, it seems smaller? Haha. I think buying a house in US isn't an expensive thing right?

Ar... So grade 7 to 9 is supposed to be in Secondary School? Haha. Sorry, I'm not too good with Grade system.
Oh. I always thought that 'shedyule' is the correct pronouciation. Haha! See, the problem with us is that, we have a mix of US English and UK English. Haha! Just like 'Apologise' US English is 'Apologize' right? We don't know which to use sometimes. Haha!

Oh... To be of manageral post is quite good. Haha. So they worked in the same factory? It seems they've jumped a lot of factories when you mentioned 'They've worked in garment factories for many years now.'
Haha

Haha. Thanks thanks. I hope this day will come soon.

Hmmm. True. But writing is never for me. Haha! I wanted to try out different styles. Being a jack of all traits might be better than a master of something, sometimes. Haha!

Yeah. The titles are just deceiving. Shows like 'Big Fish', 'Forrest Gump', 'Termial', 'Fisher King' and 'Road to Perdition'... Not very special, but the show are nice. Mostly are by Tom Hanks. Haha!

IrethLeonhart In reply to Rukawa-11 [2009-09-17 05:38:41 +0000 UTC]

Yeah it's a mix. I guess both the brush and the painting gets dirty? Haha!

Noooo! It's not big either! Seriously! I think this is the smallest room here as well Hmmm it depends where you're buying it, I think. The mortgage, geez, it's killing people. The taxes, and many other stuff, bills, we didn't have much of those back in the Phils. I believe it was easier to live there because all you have to worry about the most is the electricity bill and the water bill. Here, you can't even count it

Yup. I think Grade 7 is equivalent to 1st year highschool.
Really? Oh it's because it's a Brit colony there I think. And yeah, talk about those differences. When I was in Sri Lanka and we had spelling quizzes, sometimes I get it wrong >_< I forget the "u" in honour, but then in American English, honor is okay But what really was hard there was their accent. Just imagine v being pronounced as w, and vice versa. Like "wine" for example. They say it as "vine". Then for "love", "lowe". Imagine a spelling test with that accent

They met in the same factory. My mom was the manager back then as well. But sometimes when they go abroad they don't work in the same factory. And yeah, they've worked in a lot of different garment factories, even when I wasn't even born. Hahaha!

It will. Just have faith. If you have faith, you'll work towards it. If not, then you might not get it. Haha!

It has it's advantages and disadvantages. If you're a master of something, you get to specialize on a certain area and really make a good job of it. The thing is, when you're so fixed on that one thing, sometimes you'll have trouble with other things though. And then the thing with being good with many stuff, you're flexible to anything, but it's not sure if you'd do an excellent job on some things because we all know you can't be that good with everything isn't it? But I guess there is always room for developing everything we possess.

Ohh haha! See! I just read them and I was like, yeah, not really that catchy. But you're right, they just deceive us. Haha!

Rukawa-11 In reply to IrethLeonhart [2009-09-19 18:18:17 +0000 UTC]

Smallest room? Haha. Still can fit four persons eh. Not bad. Buy those by the country side. Might be cool! Yeah, in Singapore there are taxes, bills and other stuff. Killing people as well. Haha! But I see almost all of the Americans' houses are so big and spacious! I admire them so much!!!

Haha! I think it will be chaotic! Singapore has it writen in Brit spelling and Singaporean pronounciation. So sometimes, the kids just wonder which is the correct one. Haha!
Sometimes for the composition, I'm really quite stuck between Brit and US English. So US pronounced 'Love' as 'Lafe' and Brit is 'Lurve'? Haha

Woow.. That isn't easy for them. To keep hopping around, it's really boring. Haha! So I guess their whole life revolves around garment factories? Even now?

Yup! I would need to take the first step! But I'm just too lazy to put in more details!!!! Haha!

Yup, there is a point. But my friend told me this one day. It's always better to be the Jack of all Traits and slowly, improve on the different skills that we would require. At least we know a wide-spread of different things. Haha! It's just about brushing up on the skills. For example, I know how to draw anime characters, still-life, cartoonic, animation, website, videography, photography, abit here and there. But of course, my master is in animation. Haha. But as for the other stuff, I would slowly brush them up so I can use it for future use.

Ops, 'Terminal' not 'Termial'. But the shows aren't deceiving. They are geniunely good! You should watch it soon!

When I save enough money to buy a house, I want to design it I was imagining a house with a terrace and a porch, and a garden, then at some distance you could see a lake, or a river haha yeah right.. As if that won't be expensive. Haha! But I still think the taxes there are not as much as the ones here that really bury you. haha!
Yup, they're quite big. My aunt in Texas owns a real nice house. Houses there are not that expensive.

Oh haha that is confusing >_< People's accents confuse us even more

Yeah they stay at different countries for some years. You could say that they did spend most of their time on garment factories. But I think when they were younger they had other kinds of jobs as well. They just got settled when they got in the garment industry. But my dad is like an all-around guy. He can fix appliances, make stuff for projects, he's like a carpenter, and architect, many more stuff. And he sings and is good in drawing as well

Yes lazyness sometimes gets the better of us. It wins! Haha!

I guess you're right. Besides, each time you use a skill, you tend to develop and improve on that isn't it?

Maybe I should I think I've seen Terminal though. I just can't remember. Maybe it was my mom who found that film on TV haha! Oh and I was talking about the title deceiving us. They don't sound catchy enough but they're really good

Hahaha! That is almost as good as being a princess. Oh, then why don't your family move over to Texas then? Haha, after all, Singapore money is smaller than US dollars.

Haha! Yeah! That is why we seldom talk to indians. They shake their heads, and talk. But they have certain meanings to shaking their heads. LOL!

Damn! Your father is the ultimate role model for your family. Haha! My father only knows how to cook and that's all. Ok, maybe abit of martial arts knowledge. But his cooking is really splendid. I believe guys that are a few generations before me, are more all rounder kind. The later generations depend too much on services. Haha

Laziness wins almost all the time! Hahaha! I'm supposed to run today!

Yeah, I was thinking of that too. We improve as we further use and develope it. Just like your father, also an all rounder.

Haha! Yes! They are really good. I love 'Big Fish' and 'Forrest Gump' the most. My favourites already.

Why is that being like a princess? Seriously, I want to design my house. I'd make it real nice Hmmm I think my dad likes it better when we live with his side of the family. Haha!

Oh talk about them shaking their heads! The first time we got to Sri Lanka, they shook their heads! I thought they disagreed!

Oh yes add cooking as well. He knows how to cook too Wow martial arts? My dad was showing us some tai chi before. He said he got it from watching tai chi CDs where they teach you those kind of stuff Hahaha! I only did taekwondo. Yes the older ones really are like all rounders haha! But my mom cooks well too. She knows how to do many things as well. And cooks good food too Oh and she's intelligent

And you didn't run? Haha!

Yup. Similar to me playing the piano, if I stop playing it for a long time, the next time I play it, I have to practice again So now I play it often. And with badminton as well, if you stop for a long time, the next time you do it again, your arm will hurt the first few days

Oh I see. They're really nice huh

Rukawa-11 In reply to IrethLeonhart [2009-09-21 10:30:32 +0000 UTC]

Haha! Don't know. Seems like it to me.
Yeah, we would always like our own stuff instead. Hmmm, definitely your dad would always prefer his side of the family. Haha.

Haha! I don't know if I'm right. But if you've noticed, when they shake with their eyes open, they agree. If they shake with their eyes closed, they don't agree. Haha!

Wow! That's great! I think it's really a bliss to have a cooking dad. Haha! My dad learned Taekwondo too, but because he broke his leg in an accident, he quit. Oh. You're a martial arts practicioner as well. I did Ninja-do, a mixed martial art kinda stuff.
It's nice to have an intelligent mum, but not a calculative mum. Haha! My mum was like that.

Nope, I didn't run in the end. I'm supposed to run today as well! But it's raining! NOOO!!!

Haha! Yup! I love badminton! and I just broke my favourite racket last week! My heart ached for a day. LOL! Yeah. Badminton will cause your arm to ache when you've stopped playing for a few months. Hehe.

Yup. They are the best.

No it's not.
Yup, he would, because it's his family. He won't be shy I guess. Haha!

Oh really? I didn't notice that. I've only noticed the difference in the way they shook their heads. For yes, they shake it like it's swaying sideways, like a wave. For no, they just shake it sideways.

Oh I see. Is his leg okay now? Ninja-do? Wow that's nice
I wouldn't want a mom who nags too much though Like when they talk endlessly about things that really shouldn't be a big matter.

Haha so lazyness did win

That's too bad. Haha! I left my racket back in the Phils so what we play here with is just the ones you can buy at the grocery store. But they're good ones, not like the ones in the Phils you buy everywhere, those ones break easily. Haha!

Rukawa-11 In reply to IrethLeonhart [2009-09-22 06:32:02 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I think so too. It's the same thing as I was here. I feel more attached to my father's side but feel more comfortable at my mother's side. Maybe because my mother side people are younger. haha!

Haha! You will come to notice it when you speak to an indian. Haha!

Yeah, he is alright now. But couldn't kick anymore, due to the splinter of the bone that pierced through his shin.
Hahaha! Yeah. Nagging is bad, but seeing that she nagged from her experience. Maybe she doesn't want you to experience the same thing as her. That's why the nag. haha!

YUP!

Is it? Singapore has lots of lousy rackets in the grocery store. Unless we go to the shopping malls, those will be more of a better quality. Haha!

IrethLeonhart In reply to Rukawa-11 [2009-09-23 02:51:45 +0000 UTC]

Really? Hmmm I guess we too are attached to my dad's side because we grew up with them. But my mom's side is really nice too.

Haha sometimes I still find it hard to understand them. They sometimes talk too fast with that accent of theirs that the words don't sound right.

Oh good thing he's okay now.
Hahaha I guess that's an advantage of nagging huh.

Yeah the ones in the mall are better, but they're more expensive as well
