I guess it's good, but still, I don't understand the main idea of how you actually draw a photo in vectors???

This is a very good tutorial that will help new users to vectoring. It's more easier to do vector on Adobe Illustrator because it's easier to fix the curves and resize all parts vectored with no quality loss. Anways, since that I don't do vectoring on photoshop, I'm going to try doing this right now.

Well I did post this tutorial on gamerenders under .apocalypse, might be confusing papermache with my account.

extremely confussing if you have never vectored anything before. its a problem people have: explaining something you know will always be difficult as you will never explain things thourougly and assume that people 'know' things. thanks anyway.

colourfascination [2007-06-16 00:45:43 +0000 UTC]

Oh gosh, I tried to start....but then I got scared xD
I've never made a vector thingy, so I just decided not to try....basically because I'm a slow learner when it comes to hard stuff
But the tut looks great! And easy, but I just don't have the patience

thank you I did find everything else easy to follow ... so you get better results in illustrator ? I have not used that b4 ..but I'm willing to try ...I did find a method of applying a smoothness to the hair I did .. not quite as detailed as yours in the tut ... but I found that ctrl + click to select allows you to then modify-smooth ... dunno if that will help anyone else at all ..cheers and again thanks for the great tut!

np and ya illustrator is a bit better for vectors but a bit more confusing

SNMGems In reply to Runaway11223 [2006-09-27 00:50:46 +0000 UTC]

it's a good thing I am not new to graphics and design then ~L~ can't be any worse then learning PS

👍: 0 ⏩: 0

SNMGems [2006-09-26 02:20:57 +0000 UTC]

what version of PS are you using ? I'm using PS CS2, and I can't use half of the tools on vectors ? However I am new to the process...so maybe I am doing something wrong ?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Runaway11223 In reply to SNMGems [2006-09-26 02:31:13 +0000 UTC]

In the tutorial i used photoshopcs2, photoshop does not have smooth tool only illustrator does :S thats why i didnt say use smooth inside the tut only replied a comment with it. The tutorial only tells you to use pen tool and maybe a couple other tools that should be easy to find in pscs2.

👍: 0 ⏩: 0

SNMGems [2006-09-26 02:05:51 +0000 UTC]

except that I can't find the smooth tool :S

I think this tut is is wonderful ! ..It's a little hard to follow in places .. but over all I think I got the hang of it ~L~ ..I was also having issues with the hair .. but now that I read all the comments ..I have found the answer thank you !
