And so we hit the inevitable. Again. (There's a lot of inevitable when you're doing a huge flashback.) There's actually a difference here, coloring-wise versus a flashback panel from long, long ago but I think the color choices here work better, given the context. I'm curious to see if anybody besides me will know which one I'm talking about. Such is the perils of doing a comic over a long period of time-you end up going 'dnagit, this works much better.'
Song for this entire flashback bit that I'd been meaning to share: Killer, by the Hoosiers. It was recommended to me on my Spotify weekly list ages ago and it fit perfectly. Thanks, Spotify!

Fun fact! According to the books, the springlocks failing wouldnt kill you. It would actually be you slowly but surely drowing in your own blood. Pretty painful

That little "oh shit" moment that Dante had right there was hilarious. Was he noticing the sound of the springlocks winding down? Or was it a delayed pain reaction? He said a chunk was taken out of his leg... Or was Jorge in that suit and said that? Back to the "oh shit" moment, it seems like the half second after you stub your toe and you're like "Crap, I stubbed my- GOD IT HURTS!" Also, the Crying Children had funny faces. "Idiot. Can you believe the dude who was too scared to hide behind an IPad every night and murdered us instead decided to get in a suit he KNOWS is deadly?"
Also, keep up the good work. Love the comic!

Dante was indeed the one who lost a chunk of leg due to springlock malfunction. And yep, he noticed that very distinctive noise of the springlocks on the whole suit failing. (Not that he could do much about it.) And yes, the kids are pretty much my favorite part of this particular comic. It's fun to draw them, because you can still get a surprising amount of expression out of such simple faces.
And as always, glad to see people are entertained by this weird little thing. I appreciate people sticking with, especially since I've been going back and seeing how rough the initial pages were.

I'm so glad that all the plot planning seems to have worked out with the readership. The backstory dump was the part I was really worried about, because it's sort of make-or-break for if he keeps reader sympathy/interest or not.
