I love the contrast between the sun god and the rest of the image; it really makes his deity stand out and pop. It sets it apart from the rest of the image, which underlines its otherworldliness (is that a word?) Good choice on the reds and yellows vs. the greens and browns too, sets up a nice separation between the natural earthly realm and the powerful, ethereal supernatural realm. I like how the god and Hoit interlock as well.
I'm so jealous of how intricate your designs are. You recreate mesoamerican styles really well too. It almost looks like an ancient illustration. Good work!

I love all the details that you put into the sun god bird guy. I figure he's going for a Quetzalcoatl .. . . phoenix kind of look. Holy shit I almost spelled Quetzalcoatl right without looking. Anyways, you always do great in adding the details and touches to make something that might be plain more interesting. It's a lot more reminiscent of Mayan architecture and sculptures that way.
I love Hoit's design, but in the story I'm curious as to how he tailors his clothing. Does he steal it from people or does he make it himself based off his old clothing? Just wondering, more or less because it makes sense as a kid to re-use stuff, specially if it's big. But at a certain age does he just start like making his own clothing, which is cool. It's a nifty coat, you usually have your character is some pretty nifty coats. His katar-esq weapons look pretty nifty as well, makes him seem more sneaky as a result.
Also the only thing that I really don't like is the background color, some of the details seem to be lost or don't pop out as much or blend in as much as a result.

They kind of live in a sub community with socialistic services, and its funny that you asked that because i was just tinking of designing all the shop keepers of it. Actually he's not very sneaky or good with those things because he uses a stabbing motion with them rather than a slashing motion.
Now that I'm on my friends laptop I can realize that, my computers color looked a lot different.

Oh, okay, just wondering since you said he was basically ditched there and hung out with a Mayan dude. xD That also makes him seem a lot less sneaky, since stabbing requires more force and puts you in a bit of a spot sometimes since slashing is more defensive and gets you out quicker. I think.

I like the style of this and all the unique patterns
As far as critique, I would suggest maybe making the outlines thicker around some of the important parts of the work, such as the character and that awesome dragon's head on the left side. Everything kind of blends together right now, and while it does create an interesting effect, you might find an even nicer effect experimenting with your line thicknesses a bit.
