Description This file is HUUUUUUUUUGE!

I have worked so hard on my Equineox breed sheet and I would LOVE it if you would want one BUT THIS BREED IS FREE BUT YOU MUST NOTE ME WITH EVERYONE YOU CREATE AND I MUST APPROVE IT

I worked very hard on this breed and I won't let them get out of hand.

I will start posting rules and FAQ if they become popular....IF haha

The breeds mentioned above: Nightmares are Emo-Ninja-Kiriai's creation and the Hototo breed is Jullelin

I did reference the pose above but I can't find the picture; credit goes to the photographer of that pic X3 (sorry)

Can you read it?

Equineox
The Equineox breed cannot be directly traced. It is a secretive breed that was only recently discovered accidently. Folklore from the area described a mysterious horse that appears only around the Vernal and Autumnal Equinox, hence the name for the breed. The locals have spent a few generations trying to tame the breed and only have recently been able to do so with a few individuals. They have a limited captive stock of the breed and hope to be able to share the gifts of the Equineox with the world someday.

It is believed that the first of the Equineox breed came directly from the heavens when the gods were at war. The first stallion, one of blue and black, escaped and descended onto the earth on the day of the Vernal Equinox. He ran free and wild, healing the sick and injured as he went. But as time passed he grew lonely and cried to the heavens for help. The war between the gods was still raging but someone did hear his cry. The first mare, one of brown and green took pity on the lonely stallion and descended herself onto the earth. She greeted the stallion with her conditions. She would stay with him on earth as long as he gave up his healing powers so that his offspring could have powers of their own. The stallion readily agreed and he lost his powers to heal the sick. The two ran together over the earth, populating small corners of it with their offspring. They were of brilliant colors; reds, blues, yellows, greens and every color in between. As time passed man began to go to war. They killed off each other as well as the pair’s children. The two fled back to the heavens, leaving a few surviving offspring in a secluded forest, away from man. The mare was grief stricken over her dead children and spent her last breath giving the remaining of her offspring the gift of immortality so that no more harm was to come to them.

The breed today is highly sought after for their dressage and show jumping ability. They are graceful and powerful animals with builds similar to Thoroughbred. They are very shy creatures, preferring solitude to a stable filled with other horses. They are calm and can be used for pleasure riding as well as eventing.

2 types of Equineox

Vernal: This is the spring type. They are leaner built and are the preferred type for show jumping. Their colors are green, brown, yellow, purple, pink and light blue. They are bright and flashy colors, just in time for the new life of spring. This type prefers sunlight rich and warm environments. Vernal Equineox foals are conceived in February through May and are born after 12 months of gestation. The highest number of Vernal foals are born around March 21st, or the Vernal Equinox.

Autumnal: This is the Fall type. They are heavier built and preferred for Dressage. They range in color from black, orange, red, dark blue and gray. This type is darker and gloomier, getting ready for the longer nights. This type loves the cold and darker places to stay. Autumnal Equineox foals are conceived in August through November and are born after 12 months gestation. The highest number of Autumnal foals are born around September 21st, the Autumnal Equinox.

Coloration:
Equineox colorations and patterns can be anything you can think of, as long as they are the colors associated with the breed. NO SOLIDS (except white)! There cannot be a solid Equineox; they must have a mark somewhere on their body. It can be as minimal as a sock to as maximal as a camouflage, rainbow Equineox. Be creative when creating them.

White is the rarest color and can occur in both the Vernal and the Autumnal. White signifies purity and they are the best of the breed. It is believed that they have the power to time travel. That has not been proven yet but they CAN communicate emotions to humans telepathically. White has only been seen a handful of times in Equineox recorded history, most of them stallions. All of them never threw white offspring. White is a solid color. The entire horse is white with no markings. Their eyes are green.

Intermingling-Breeding an Equineox
-It doesn’t matter if the types are mixed. They are the same breed; the only difference is their coat color. The type of the foal will be determined when conception happens. There are two breeding seasons for the Equineox, the Fall and the Spring. Breeding will happen if two Equineox are around one another during breeding season. This means that, for example, two Autumnal Equineox who happen to be around each other during the Spring breeding season will produce a Vernal foal.

- Breeding an Equineox with Natural Breeds:
When an Equineox breeds with a natural breed there is a 50/50 chance that you will get an Equineox foal, depending on the time of conception and delivery. The genes cannot mix to produce a half Equineox foal and half natural horse.

-Breeding an Equineox with Unnatural Breeds:
When an Equineox breeds with an unnatural horse, for example a Disturbed Nightmare or a Unicorn, there is a 95% chance that the foal will be one or the other breed. There is a 5% chance that the foal will inherit something from both sides. For example, if you were to cross an Equineox with a Hototo, you would more than likely get an offspring that looks like a Hototo or an offspring that looks like an Equineox. Only a small amount of the time would you get a foal that does look like a cross between the two. For example a heavier built foal with the base coat color of an Equineox and the sparkly stripes of a Hototo.

****This type of breeding DOES depend on the type of Equineox: Since its breeding to an outside gene source that is another fantasy breed, the type of foal produced depends on the sire/dam*****

How do you tell if your horse is an Equineox?
Good question! :3 They have specific powers associated with their breed Their eyes will glow either blue(Vernal) or red(Autumnal) while using their powers.

Vernal Equineox: Life. That is the meaning for their existence. They heal, they bring back the dead, they help things grow. Essentially they are the rebirthing of life in the Spring time. Newborn Vernal foals are known for growing little vines around themselves accidently shortly after birth.

Autumnal Equineox: Death. They kill things, and make things sick (it’s not on purpose). They cause the death and the hurt that the Vernal heal. They are not mean creatures, just unfortunate ones. Generally Autumnal foals will not be twins, or if they are, one will die in the womb.

Family Life
Equineox are immortal, which means they live forever, unless killed by man or disease. They are a hardy breed and rarely get sick but when they do its often fatal. Being immortal also does not mean they breed continuously. Stallions reach sexual maturity at age 20 and will produce anywhere from 4 to 6 offspring their entire life. In the wild they fight over mares, so be careful. If you house more than 1 Equineox stallion in your stable during the breeding seasons, then be sure to keep them separated. They are fine any other time of the year. Mares reach sexual maturity around the age of 15 and will produce about 7 to 8 foals during her lifetime. Mares are EXTREMLY protective of their foals. Foals will stay with their mothers until about the age of 5. When the age of 5 is reached, young stallions will be chased away from the dam’s herd and will find a bachelor herd to join. For mares, they are welcomed into their dam’s herd to swell the ranks.

Herd sizes of Equineox in the wild range from 10 to 30 individuals. When this limit is reached, the herds generally break up into smaller groups, mostly by age, and then continue about their lives. Bonds are strong between an Equineox, they all feel grief when a member dies and they all feel like parents when a new foal is born.

During breeding season in the wild, the Equineox stallions will round up a few mares from different herds and fight off rivals for the right to mate. Equineox DO NOT MATE EVERY YEAR! There can be anywhere from 2 to 25 years between matings.
