This is one of my more favorite cliches, but I personally feel that it works better when the person doing the transformation is then informed that the 'victim' was talking about the fruits and basically says "Whoops."
But it's still pretty funny overall.

but for this particular story i wanted to convey the fact that Ember would use any excuse to curse someone, so i had to show he was clearly talking about the melons in the first place,
