here idly sitting amongst fast forward city life
trembling
too terrified to move
too enraged to stay still
grasping at desperate images
lunatic fringes
and paper cut melodies
higher grounds set green against the pale backdrops
a flow in my mind such memory deceives me
to separate dream from reality
life from death
mortal from inanimate
the slighting funhouse mirror effect on my focus
a quickening in my breath
fear tightening my ribs in vicegrips
grimacing against the furnace blast
a burn-outs eyes in a weathered face
i pray for all alone
yet clutch to the human form
as if from drowning in tar
pathetic yes i do admit this
i fight for a blood i never recognize
i am of two minds
and several conflicted bickering personalities
all striving for one great fall
or one unimaginable triumph
over the cliffs smashed to the rocks
eyes milked dry of all hope and livelihood
here my one final severe act:
to admit weakness
to the last-and-only in this place
