Yeah, EvenΒ late of '90s by U.S.Β Armored Troops. Some tank crews said they used Grease gun until that era.

Yes. Many of U.S. AFVs carry M4A1 Carbine in inside as PDW.

Well, But if you escaped from disabled tank in hostile area, You will be thanks to have a M4A1 Carbine than smaller SMG.

yeah, the M4A1 has more stopping power the the M3, but im betting its probably not as easy to hold in a crowded tank/helicopter/armored fighting vehicle/humvee due to the larger size of the weapon

Yes, even U.S. Army used M3A1 SMG until early of 2000s. Long lived WW2 weapon! haha
