After such works I remember why I don't draw grass often xD I'm just bad at it
It was nice to work on something warm in colour, the background, I mean. It's also interesting to see a contrast between the cold character and the warm surroundings.

Really fine and pleasant for the eye pic. Very calm atmosphere. His pose looks like he just rolled over on his back, it's really well made.
Dragon himself is done well of course too, I really like the details on membranes. As for the grass... it's AWESOME. What do You want from it?

My grass is usually a product of random brush strokes, I just play with its thickness, colour and direction

Also, the grass isn't too bad. It just looks kinda like... an illusionist style painting. Which contrasts the semi-toony yet sharp dragon.

Great, now I have an image of an "educated" dragon with a monocle reading some useless but intelligent-sounding (e.g. "History and Politics of Ancient Dragon Kingdoms") invisible book stuck in mah head. DX
Does that mean there are dragon scholars though? Maybe consisting of the few literate dragons, and studying, IDK, ancient texts and history or something. XD

i hate it when a good artist says " i'm bad at drawing x " or " i suck at y " , it just fills me with murderous rage that would take me to the artist's country if need be .

Tiko looks great! His pose looks so amusingly relaxed and even playful. I like how you've portrayed him here. I also really like the effort you put into portraying the grass (particularly the flattened grass, and the grass that props up against his tail-fan and wings) and the texture of the tree bark too, it really enhances the picture. The lighting effects (the difference between the sunlit grass and the grass in the long shadow of the trees) gives the scene a nice late-afternoon feel.

I like to do your commissions as they have some interesting features, which include elements of improvement for me, either a pose or trying something new. It's an exciting experience
It was a pleasure to draw, mostly because it has a lot of relaxing things, and somehow they made me feel relaxed even while drawing it, not just by viewing the finished result.

"Bad at it"?
I think the grass look awesome.
I mean, I can understand it must be painfully time consuming, but I'd say that even in that case, the grass is worth it as it really adds to the piece.
Now, the dragon is still in center of attention, but the grass breaks the hard texture and make a contrast for the dragon to stand out from.
This makes the dragon seem a lot more naturally placed, and it is much more comfortable for the eye to look upon this artwork.
I must also add that I adore the warm sunrays in this piece

The warm sunrays were requested, and I agree, they give a pleasant feeling of calmness once you look at it ^^
The truth is, the grass was supposed to be higher, and as I couldn't find a good way to raise it in the places where the dragon didn't "roll", it looks a bit weird

I think that's just to have it cover more of the dragon. After all, it is by how high it reaches on objects in the scene our brain determinate how tall the grass is.
