with a mouse!!! ha, I know that's not the answer you where looking for, but I make a preliminary sketch, snap it with my camera, load it onto photoshop and use the line drawing as a guide, though I think up of the colors and shading because it's not on the sketches. I have tones of layers, 30+ -_- yeesh what a pain.

Thanks! I spent a couple of hours trying to find a background that looked Final Fantasy-ish but that didn't compete with her silhouette, if it was too light it would wash out her hair.
