In the United States, Chekhov's reputation began its rise slightly later, partly through the influence of Stanislavski's system  of acting, with its notion of subtext :

"Chekhov often expressed his thought not in speeches," wrote Stanislavski, "but in pauses or between the lines or in replies consisting of a single word ...

the characters often feel and think things not expressed in the lines they speak.

i know what you mean)))
Stanislavsky system of acting - "me in suggested circumstances"
Chekhov's play "Three Sisters" was just a starting point for this shoot.
i didn't expect what borders we brake when we're going through

The last series you posted felt like Rita watching a seagull in her Uncle Vanya's cherry orchard,

with which her sister was tattooed.  Knowing little of his plays beyond their titles, I was on

the brink of learning more, but these posts of yours, and, a few lines from Wikipedia,

"a Russian playwright and short-story writer who is considered to be among the greatest writers of short fiction in history."

tell me that I'm long overdue in getting much better acquainted.  Thank you!!!

and it's great honor for me to remind you classic literature.
i prefer his short-stories. much more than his plays.
and i hope that my last seria comes closer to his ancient times (not only because the title)
thank you!
stay tuned!

but he has another type - couple of really scary dramatic tales. what do you prefer???
