Some people are actually creating art, drawing, painting and making things, and yet a quicker way to get recognition and DDs on DA is to strip and torture a woman and take photos of it. I'm not denying that such images may have an erotic appeal but to think that it appeals to any higher sense or constitutes art is clearly a delusion.

so are photos not art, or do you just think that this is a bad photo? or perhaps not a bad photo, but a photo that manipulates the DD system?

I'm not condemning the photo as bad, and it's comparatively mild compared to some of the sordid material that has been plastered across DA, and which people (who should know better) have dignified with the name of Art. What I'm saying is that this piece exemplifies the sort of thing that attracts those deviants who are not in it for any intellectual or aesthetic appreciation, but who are primarily seeking titliation. I'm not saying that I've never been guilty of that, but one doesn't have to be in perfect health in order to recognize sickness in others.

it is art, after all, what is art?
art conveys emotion, positive, negative, neutral, and everything in between. sexual, asexual, ect. this conveys emotion, although sexual in nature. in makes you think to an extent, it does not preach but it is not lacking of meaning either. it is just as much an expression of emotion of the artists as well as the riling of emotion of the viewer.
the difference between art and say porn, is intent primarily, and aesthetic value secondarily. both seek to convey emotion and make you feel something, but in art you are asked to look deeper by the artist - to see subtle emotions, to feel the atmosphere of the work, to see as the artist wants you to see. art can arouse, but thats not usually the point. porn, on the other hand, while perhaps highly aesthetically pleasing if well done, the main intent is to arouse you. not for you to look deeper into the porn, but to enjoy it for its primal qualities as is. to look without thinking much about the human condition but rather your sexual feelings and fantasies.
judging by my own definition of art, trying to make it as objective as possible, you could hopefully agree that the difference between art and 'not art' (in this case we will use porn) is not a line, but rather a grey area. a greyscale of sorts, with art on one end and not art on the other. both extremes, with all in between leaning one way or the other or perhaps neutral.
to me, this piece, while not perfectly fitting into the 'art' side of the spectrum, is certainly closer to it than it is to 'not art', and by a lot.

The picture is cool and all, but has no one ever commented the skin on her face versus the one on her arm? It looks horrible. You've smoothened it TOO, it almost looks like vector.
The full body one looks great tho.

i dont think shes to skinny. i think its the way shes holding the pose, stretching herself that makes her look skinny. the face seems so soft compared to the rest of her skin. but a wondeful photo nonetheless.

i really like this picture! she shows such sexual characteristics in this picture! her muscles on her legs are like.. so strong! haha but then like is the ribs showing on her is that photoshopped or what?! haha i have that showing too when i'm in the same kind of position as that! the model herself is wonderful! good job with this !

I like the full body photo very much. Your model doesn't look too skinny, but the pronounced ribcage gives it a feel like she IS being tortured, like she's been there for a while with not much to eat or something. It's an effective photo.

I have to disagree - look at all the muscle she has in her legs! The girl clearly hits the gym a lot and is just in great shape.
Great photo though - well executed and the model is perfect. The rib cage gives the right effect or she would just be hanging there.
