Description
Ares, the God of Storms, was a god filled with chaos and violence. Not being content with a conclusive battle, he delighted in ongoing wars, pain and punishment. Far from being regarded as a Satan-like god, he was worshipped to also give strength and to bless warriors with a sense of no fear. Rage and hate seemed evident to be his dominant emotional state. This I linked to be gender based in which I associated the primal, violent and raging nature that is shown in males more-so than females. Originally I considered a photograph of a very normal person in casual or business clothes coiled in a ball, his eyes filled with anger. Of doing concept sketches and also more analyzing, I decided to not lean towards realism but to find a medium between human and spirit.
