A closer look at Sorcha’s arm tattoos. The curves and circles are rivers and irrigation, and the hatching among the curves and three bands around her bicep are crop fields. At the top of the crop bands are heads of wheat, and on the back of her hand is another wheat head surrounded by the ever-present Mirialan diamond.

Sorcha got these tattoos as a commemoration of her old home in the countryside, which she had to leave when she was very young when the Separatist took the planet, and which were later razed and made into factories. She was very small when they’d been forced to move into cramped city housing, only about 4 years old, and what she remembered the most was the beautiful streams and the green and purple and golden fields of crops that her parents and neighbors grew. Sorcha vowed that she would take back her home from the Empire and give her parents their freedom back.
