How do we know it's inaccurate, though? Does the current canon ever specify there were no non-humans in the Imperial forces? Or is everyone still operating on the Extended Universe's assumption that no visible non-humans on the Death Star=no non-humans in the Imperial military?

very well done, and I don't think it is inaccurate, aliens were recruited eventually when the empire was starting to wane in support. or do you mean them being women? cause that also happened eventually.

Aliens have even managed to gain high ranks in the Empire. For instance, Grand Admiral Thrawn. In fact, it kind of makes this character more badass. The Empire obviously thought she had skills they could use. Maybe she can actually hit a target, for instance.
