Love that they still have little instances of the original Star Wars spirit of using surplus and such in their designs. Krennic's blaster is an MP-40 which I find fantastic.

yeah, they've definitely managed to capture and simultaneously update the OG Star Wars aesthetic, which is quite a feat since "retro" sci-fi is probably one of the more difficult art directions to tastefully pull off.
