Odin...Wotan...Grimnir...God of War
God of Magic
God of Wisdom
God of Poetry
and sometimes God of Evil
His pet wolves, Freki and Geri
His pet ravens which circle the world daily and tell them what they've seen, Hugin (thought) and Munin (memory)
His magic ring of wealth, Draupnir, which creates 9 copies of itself every night
His great spear Gungnir, which never misses it's mark and can determine the fate of a battle
Odin, who gave his eye and hung on the great tree Yggdrasil for 9 days.
He sacrificed himself to himself
And gained the wisdom of the universe
This was a deviation for , who asked me to draw it,
but this was also a deviation for myself and everyone else who likes my work. I haevn't really done much stuff like this in a while, so it was nice to get back to my roots. I spent a lot of time trying new tricks with color. I'm pretty proud of this piece, although I could've made it better. I looka t some parts and think of how I could've changed them...but I'm an artist...I do that...

Thanks bro! I'm trying to apply more of the coloring techniques I learned in my painting class last spring. I had a very good instructor who actually taught me a few new things about painting. I'ts nice to make a piece that requires a little extra effort too every now and then.

those are some dank wolves, and the bird on his shoulder is slick. sweet. I'm doing a peice right now that is of similar ideals.

I just finished Thundergod and am about to start on Hammer Of The Gods. Ok that aside, you have proven to me that an Odin drawing can have Hugin and Munin, Freki and Geri, and Gungnir and not look too busy. I really like this. Specifically I his belt, the wolves are probably the best wolves I've ever seen honestly. and there are a lot of people out there who are like obsessed with wolves and draw wolves all the time and these are some serious dope wolves. Gungnir may be my favorite part though, it is so the perfection. Also Thundergod inspired me to do a lot more Thor stuff.

Well, my first sketch I had Odin with a winged helmet, but I discarded it after I drew one of his wolves and it looked really awful. I had no reference to sue when I was drawing them, and I'm no anthro artist. I just winged it the best I could, and I still think the one standing by Odin looks more like a coyote. I did use a reference coloring them though, so I am a bit pleased how they turned out. Just plain gray or black wolves would've looked too...cliche I think.
I think Hammer OT Gods is better than the Thundergod story, but Michael Avon Oeming is an awesome writer. He's been writing all the Thor and Beta Ray Bill stories for Marvel these past few years. He's putting out more HOTG stuff later, but Im not sure when.
