Um, this would be a shitty stamp I made to support ED with!
Yeah, I know this isn't a real deviation, bleh. And I haven't created any art in a while... but be patient, some is coming soon!

Haha, yeah. I use some other types of reference material.
My females have been getting better, having Love Hina as a reference.
I will post some chicks if I can get one that doesn't look retarded (it sounds wrong by intention)

I'm frightened. And need to work on males. Although mine are faintly shojou, and so are thin and non- muscle defined. Shoot. i really really need to learn muscle definition because Skye (and Winde for that matter) Have to be fairly muscly to hold up their wings, let alone fly....

Fall for the Shoujo look. It's anatomically incorrect, and is mostly based on stylism.

Your style's cool, I reckon it would look cooler with a bit more realism though (more definition of the face, etc).
I never said your characters didn't, I was just warning you against Shojou. I don't mind Shojou so long as the story line doesn't suck.
What I can't stand are Yaoi or Yuri.

...i don't mind yaoi or yuri. I wouldnt really read them myself tho... What really pisses me off is when it starts cropping up in other non yaoi?yuri mangas or animes by weirdo fans.

Yaoi and Yuri piss me off when they're used by fans. They rape canon to the max, it's just... despicable.
You style isn't so much manga or anime, which is why I like it, as it's something other than those two styles.
Too many n00b manga-kas out there these days, you not being one of them as you haven't commited your style to a genre.
Which is cool. It's you, it's not definable by a single word.

I wouldn't say the style needs improvement, I'd just say that you need to start thinking in the order of: Realism and THEN Style, and not the other way around. (sorry if you think that you think otherwise)
Like, focus on getting your basics right before you apply style.

and i hate people saying "I wanna be a Mangaka!" move to japan. then say it. its a freaking COMIC BOOK ARTIST if you speak english.
and i like not being wholly mangafied. even though my style developed from it.
Damn realism. I can draw quite well observationally, which is kind of my problem- i don't learn anything from copying another pose from somewhere, so i don't learn and dip further into suckiness.

I only use the word "manga-ka" since it denotes manga/anime styled comic book artists specifically.
Usually I wouldn't grant the weeaboos the pleasure of the word "manga-ka" but this is an exception.
I'd like to try western style, I love it, but I hate the dull storylines.
I learn everything from copying other artists, that way I can pick up the technique, etc. When I want to learn something new I go for real reference material.

I hate everything about western styled comics. Well, no, that isn't true. just those marvel pieces of crap. UGHHHHHH the people are over muscled, the heros are cliche and the artists dont seem to realize that without surgery it isnt possible to have boobs that large when you are that muscly. Excuse me while i flail wildly in anger. *FLAAAAAAAAAAAAAIL*
i see your point about the manga-ka thing, but i would still only use it to describe those from japan. I would say an anime/manga styled artist from english speaking area as one with japanese influences.
There is much debate over these sort of things, such as avatar is greatly debated about as to whether its an anime or not because its made by two american guys.

I quite like all of the thought that goes into the concept behind avatar. i like well set up backgrounds in stories, which could be why i'm so anal about it with my stories.

-they scare the crap out of vi and bradley, after they take upresidence in their current home
-v&b sneak back into the warehouse that s&w are in to get their clothes etc back
-skye scares the crap out of them again
-lengthy explantion of why they arent scary
-they go to same school
-cleo is school bully (not reeeeeally coz she avoids everyone but everyones scared of her)
-v, b, s & w decide to be crime fighters (at windes urging/threatning)
-cleo accidentally helps them, and so they won't leave her alone
-grudgingly joins them after telling them to f off several times
-c kicks the crap out of marek, coz he trys to read his mind
-he sticks around coz cleo is also a sylian who understands his position (as shes also 'illegal'
