Sort of. Flan is like a pudding or custard with a syrup cooked with it at the bottom of the pan or little dish. When its done, you turn it upside down, and the pudding has an automatic topping.

Oh... Thanks for explanation! Now I know the different, and know why everybody keep calling it 'flan'. I have never heard the name 'flan' in our local dessert shop. We call both of them as 'pudding' ^^"
