Thing looks giant! He must have been one hell of a hero when he was alive
He's amazing looking. I love how his abdomen is filled with chain mail and looks a bit like the balcony to a castle with the little tapestry hanging down.

Unfortunately I cannot take full credit for this one. I created the visual concept yes, but the written character was created by another person. This was created when I was working as an artist at Stormfront Studios. The story idea came from an outside source and we were putting together some visual media for it to pitch and hopefully turn it into a game. So it's really hard to say. So much of this character comes from all that I am. The technique, style, history, influences, emotional state at the time, etc. But "technically" the character isn't mine? Whatever. I'm not doing anything with it, so there he sits and rots (no pun intended). It would be nice to find out who the original writer was, hunt him down, and get permission to own the character that is visually concepted here and do something original with it. But my time currently has other priorities.

Wow- This's the first time I've seen, how do I say, something that looks like both a mechanical construct and a humanoid corpse... This is a truly effective mix... Then to talk about the textures and colouring I could go on for a while. Rest-assured I am very pleased with this.

I suggest that you start making some decisions and pull a lot of reference together based on those decisions. You said that it's leather, but what kind of leather? are you thinking something like the stuff in the latest GI Joe movie? or are you thinking something more hand crafted like Lord of the Rings leather. zippers and plastic clasps or cross ties and metal rings? think about what your character has access to. What their skills are. Where they are or have been. Based off the rough back story you carved out, it's going to be more patchwork. A really rough form of street armor. Think Casey from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. As for the sword, it definitely says more "ninja" and I don't think that relates with where you said he's coming from. Maybe he does have access to a sword somewhere along the way, but weave that into the story somehow and make it important.
Get lots of reference. Lots and lots, and start pulling from it your favorite most applicable parts. Detail is going to sell this and make it unique. Make your drawing big enough to allow for that. It looks like your current image is on a 8.5 x 11 sheet of printer paper. if that's all you have access to that's fine, but fill it up! let the full body fill up the page top to bottom, and show some expanded detail bits in the empty spaces. Art takes time. Try spending at LEAST eight hours on this. and don't give up!

This is a great picture. From that ominous helmet to his "rib cage" breastplate he has the look of an ancient, slightly alien, warrior. All of the colors, tattered details, and that strange alien helmet really add to that character. Good job.
I also really like that tabard. And he looks like he's 8ft tall, very imposing. O.o

Man this is epic but for some random reason i see somekind of iron man than traveled to the past and rebuilded his armor in the middle age... or some thing like that... whatver is this is great
