Thanks. When I first met them I didn't know they were homeless...their stories broke my heart and pissed me off but I tried not to show it. This precious little one didn't make a single sound the entire time I was there but understood everything I said to her. I hope her Mom can get it together so Isabela will have a chance in this world...such a shitty life for a child.

Her silence speaks volumes. I know that sounds cliche but I don't mean it to be...
I used to be a foster parent and in the training classes I learned about some of the psychosis that traumatized children exhibit. Unfortunately, statistically speaking, Isabela doesn't have a particularly good "chance in this world." That is the result of living in a fallen world. I pray that 'mom' is getting it together and that in these past few months Isabela has found some stability and security so that she can grow up to be the beautiful child of God that He intended her to be.

You're absolutely right about her behavior and grim statistics. My oldest nephew had a similar childhood until my brother finally won custody, it still took years for him to overcome some of the abuse and neglect.
I can imagine the love and patience it takes to be a foster parent to a troubled child
