Not that much of a stretch. They're both authoritarian, imperialist, militaristic oligarchies who use "the people" to justify their varyingly-brutal rule over said people, with a carefully fabricated mythology differentiating them from the old, outdated ways of the rest of the world and justifying their expansionistic exceptionalism.
I'm honestly more interested in how you'll handle the United States of Parthia ... and Armenia would make a decent Germany. I guess Egypt could be China?

I was actually thinking of Carthage as pseudo-Germany, only here they are utterly destroyed like the historical Carthaginians. I was thinking of Egypt being akin to the PRC.

Rome isn't actually communist, it just uses the symbolism of the USSR. The government system works more or less as it did in antiquity, but scaled up.Β
