Damn, I hate it when I forget to hit the reply button, now this is a duplicate comment. Ah well.

Wikipedia paints and interesting picture of this Burroughs fellow. (I am grossly unversed in many authors.) He sounds like he might be an entertaining read.

i have read about six or seven books of his and have listened to many of his voice recordings, i find him very entertaining and intellegent, not to mention really dark. but although he writes very eclectic and verbose prose i have found that he is very inaccessable to women readers, mainly because he has no female characters in any of his books nor attempts to even portray femininity at all. he is very homosexual in that all of his characters have sex with other men or young teenage boys and through this his worlds are supersexual and ultraviolent. (Cities of the Red Night, a quite apocalyptic book, uses the image of hanging a man to achieve sexual gratification repeatedly throughout the book.) why then do i enjoy his books? his prose is very unique, his humor is very dark and witty, and he achieves a fantastic dystopia, mainly a world where science, masturbation, reason, and pompousness eclipses nature and beauty. though he is not for everyone... if you do plan to take a shot at his books, i suggest you start with Junky and then Queer because these are his books before he changed his approach and style dramatically with Naked Lunch. These first two books are much more 'autobiographical' and are very quick reads. so yeah, that's my shtick on WSB...

Haha, man musk. Truly the most pleasant of stenches. I'd love to find a place that would sell my comics, but every place around here is either Borders Books or doesn't sell comics, so a sad panda is me.

GASP! Okay, now I'm sure of it. You just have to be my cousin Deems, you even used the word 'bastiches'. Unless-- Double GASP! You're his evil clone! Or he's the evil clone of you. I dunno. At least we figured out there was some cloning involved.

Haha, well just make sure the two of you never meet, or the universe may implode. And that's just no good.
