Jakis Vorenus is my male turian, I decided to make him a reference sheet and here it is!

BACKSTORY: Born to a military family in the Turian capital of Cipritine he grew up under a father intent on his children signing up to the military like they have down the Vorenus family line. In 2183 and as a result of Tiber’s guidance he signed up to an Engineer battalion, due to a medical issue that Jakis had he couldn’t get a place in a front line or assault unit but he didn’t mind, he was set on making his father proud!#

Two years passed, he became a Sergeant with a proven squad which had gotten a reputation for being resourceful and strong, having multiple successful missions to their name. The vids from his parents and siblings were full of praise but also a slight tinge of criticism, Tiber, his father wasn’t happy with his middle son not fighting with the line troops.

2185; they came, the Reapers. A date that’ll stay in his mind until his final day. He and his unit were on the Citadel as part of a joint Human/Turian exercise, needless to say the all-male Turian unit quickly tried their lucky with their human counterparts. Some got lucky including Jakis, but before he could take things behind closed doors he saw it, a live vid screen feeding images of Palaven in flames, without thinking he looked to where his birthplace was… was, because all he saw was the orange glow through thick smoke. He was completely in shock, his jaw dropped and his legs gave way; the human female he had before hoped to spend the night with was now cradling him as he wept knowing his family were there, most presumably dead. Soon he changed; didn’t speak or lead missions, getting his second in command to do so for him. As if that was bad enough he was relieved of his position under mental stability grounds, this threw him over the edge and depression set in.

Months went by, planet after planet, system after system lost to the invaders, he wanted to help but was bound by his unit and allegiance. Until he walked away, from his unit and from his army. He knew that there was an organisation doing something for the war effort, and all he needed was a ticket to the Terminus.

He found himself on Omega leading a squad of Blue Suns troopers, his mind still in pain but his focus set on one thing; Cerberus. He led his squad, then his platoon into battle with the indoctrinated forces and alongside the other mercenary groups like the Talons and Blood Pack he took back his new home. This was where he learnt how to fight dirty; ambushes, traps and close quarters kill zones became the tools of his trade. Together he and the rest of Omega's forces expelled Cerberus.

About three months after the war's end he and his unit were transferred to the Citadel as part of an exchange. Omega got veteran Alliance and Asari warriors, the Citadel got the best fighters the streets of Omega had to offer. It was an exercise of mutual trust that paid off. During that time a Turian warship docked at the station, intent on exchanging dextro medical supplies for food and munitions. He was assigned to help load crates onto the ship; Karvatos. The Blue Suns and Turian crew had exchanged words and items; some even knew people and were allowed to meet up, to talk and more. Jakis would remember this for his whole life; a Turian about five years his younger was at the Purgatory bar with some of her ship mates, Jakis had just gone off duty so decided to pull up a stool and sit with her. He recognized her from before the war, from school in fact. It was Iccia Octavius.

She recognized him as well, she was hesitant at first remembering the name calling he and his mates had done but she saw he was a changed man, they both were. After taking enough alcohol in their systems tears started flowing, the memories and scars from battle still red raw, maybe sharing pent up emotion helped them. They shared what was closest to each other and felt truly comfortable together. Now over three years later they are now the closest of friends, and rumour has it that Jakis plans quite the proposal!

Currently he is working aboard the same ship as Iccia; his Blue Suns connections valuable to their captain; Jackson and his crew. Though he doesn't enjoy the freedom of the Blue suns the discipline of the Alliance vessel has given him new direction. He's turning his talent of combat to aiding his comrades and the good of the galaxy.

Like with Iccia he's on the roleplaying sub MassEffectPheonix, based a few years after the war it brings both canon and OC characters together for an enjoyable time, it's a great community and I won't listen to anyone say they're not.
