Description
A contemplative young dog fox enjoys his favourite time of the year. (2B pacer, coloured pencils.)This artwork was inspired by my trip to Wales. Living in Australia, I rarely get to see snow, so this landscape may be a bit innacurate. (My friends tell me the sky has to be darker, but that's not the image I have in my head!) Yeah, I didn't get to see snow in wales, either, but I got to see squirrels!
I like the way his face turned out. He looks very content and innocent. If anyone has tips for drawing snow, please share them with me, I'm willing to learn!

Maybe the sky would be ever so slightly darker, but it's close enough.

Odd. I get a lot of snow, and the sky is usually white.

You don't have squirrels in Australia? But Wales is very pretty...especially near the coast. Found that out when I went there over the summer from Texas.

No, we don't have any squirrels here.
And yeah, Wales is beautiful. I often want to go back there. Perhaps when I'm older.

Well, it is a very pretty scene in and of itself. The snow is also fairly accurate, except the clumps on the tree look a bit awkward. My favorite part of this piece is the contours on the clothing. (mostly because I couldn't do a contour on anything to save my life.)
By the way, it looks like there is a pine forest on one side of the road and maple/oak/whateveryoucallit type of forest on the other side.

...and you get the BIGGEST SLUGS I have ever seen!! I was like...totally in awe when I saw my first European slug. I stuck about six of them on a wall and took a photo, that was seriously cool.

Great bit of work - love it ^^
I especially like the work with the fur on the tail... that's a hard effect to get as well as you did it

Why thank you very much. I just use a pencil to get that fur effect. Soft strokes near the edges and then colour the same way.

Heh, it used to bug me when people would do this, comment on an art piece months after I drew it. But I'm going to anyhow.
'cept I don't know what to say beyond "I really really like this pic, you have a way with the coloured pencils."

Well thank you for taking the time to go through my admittedly small gallery, I appreciate it! I actually love it when people comment on my old artworks, especially this one, because it hardly has any comments, and I was expecting better from it.
Most appreciated.

Well, as a Canadian I can honestly say that you did a good job with the snow, especially considering that you've never even seen the stuff before. I was going to comment on the size of the camera, but the yesterday I saw a guy with a camera the size of a credit card, so, nothing inacurate there...

Thanks. Now that I look at it, it seems a bit pale. Should've darkened it in Photoshop...ah well.

Nah, the sky is just about right, I don't think it should be darker.
Great art too!
