I wish. She belongs to ShawnC, as does the other chondro in my gallery. You know who I'm talking about.

Now that is vivid !. Well composed with the body as the background but it looks like you just missed the eye as the focus point? The limited dof doesn't worry me

Yeah, well... she struck at me about 2 seconds after this shot, and I was aware she was about to do it, so I wasn't at my most steady.
She was tired of me shooting a flash in her eyes and wanted to be left alone. Chondros give a nasty bite when you make them mad.
I'll reshoot this girl eventually, and next time I'll get it right (DOF, center of focus, and better framing). The ring flash really did a nice job of showing her colors, though.

I agree with the above, that is a very vibrant color. I think that if you had increased the dof just a little it would have been less distracting to have something so close to the viewer be out of focus. Although that begins to be tough when you are doing a macro.
Great shot all around, it is definately one to catch your eye.

Yeah, I'm really not happy with the dof on that shot, but since it's not my snake, I can't reshoot easily. Next time I'll use a narrower aperature. I really wasn't sure how that shot would come out, but I like the eyes despite not being happy with the shot overall.
