To tell you the truth I'd never do a Fantastic four book. Not a fan of those characters. Hence the Hulk VS Thing pic.

There's something particularly amusing about a picture of Doom on Image Comics paper.
I like the tiny "DOOM" title at the top

Ok, everyone's blowing smoke up your ass here. That's a freakin sweet Doom, but the markers?nah. The pose, the attitude, the energy, all top notch, but man...it's like your whearing those tiny shorts from the early 80's and your balls are hanging out. That color needs to be smooth! This is just a marker comp right? Something you did at a con?
Please don't take this the wrong way. I love it, but...This would look amazing digital. Same color scheme.

HA! Great analogy. That's a problem I have with it also, I wish it was digital but yeah, this is a commission from Comicon. the marker lines are way too choppy. Wish there was a way to smooth all that out. I do appreciate the comment, and I'll never color with markers AGAIN!

HA! Don't stop, just kick their ass! From what I remember back in the days before technology, there was a marker blender. Also the paper makes a big difference. If you got to do it, I guess it's ok. Just tuck those balls in boy!

RyanOttley In reply to Roboworks [2007-08-20 16:39:17 +0000 UTC]
I remember Prisma markers having those blenders, but I need to do some searching on Copics. I'll check it out. I'll try and keep them balls tucked next time for sure.

Copics don't need the blender because they blend naturally. You just have to color in a circular motion and slower.
the copic blender actually is more like a lightener than a blender.

Ok, maybe I came off a little harsh. I didn't know that you don't photoshop. I just hate markers.
Again, sweet piece though.

Awesome! Doom is one of if not my favorite Marvel villain/mis-understood megalomaniac
He pose is great, gives off a great sense of Doom's pride and confidence (the whole 'your inferior to me' complex)

I really love the way this is colored. My sister just recently purchased Copics and I saw them go on the page and all I could go is "Wow..." They just flow together so nicely.
I love your Doom, he looks so bad ass. It's like he just finished taking out the FF and is coming for you.

Nah, it's mainly just flats. I don't think I'm good at markers at all. Maybe when I figure out how to blend them and make them look all rendered and watercolory. But thanks though, too kind Mr. X.
