You probably don't understand this stamp so:Computer Soldier Porygon, commonly Electric Soldier Porygon (no known English title), is a somewhat notorious episode of the PokΓ©mon anime, due to the fact that on its single airing in Japan on December 16, 1997, nearly seven hundred Japanese children suffered seizures, vomiting, irritated eyes and other symptoms due to a flashing strobe effect.
The episode was never commercially released or re-broadcast anywhere in the world due to it being banned by the Japanese government.
The scene which caused the seizures was a fifteen-second section in which Pikachu used an Electric attack on some vaccine missiles. The explosion was shown as a bright flashing object which alternated rapidly between red and blue.
The seizures caused by this episode caused OLM to drop the strobe effects from Pikachu's electric attacks. Also, a disclaimer is now broadcast at the beginning of television anime precautioning viewers to not sit too close to the television screen and watch it only in a brightly lit room.
Also, this episode gained PokΓ©mon the dubious title of "Most Seizures Caused by an Animated Television Program" from The Guinness Book of World Records.

The worse thing of all is that it was PIKACHU who caused the flashing lights, but since the Pokemon company didn't want their "precious" mascot to be hated, they put the blame on Porygon and now it and its evos aren't being shown in the anime. Porygon only made two cameo appearances, but Porygon2 and Porygon-Z haven't gotten any TV time. Why? Because Pikachu caused the stupid flashing lights. :\ They really should make an episode for three of them, but to avoid any problems, they can avoid adding any flashing lights that can cause seizures.
As for the Safari Zone episode, I find it hypocritical that it got banned in the US. Kids see shows with guns all the time in almost every single country, meaning the US as well. Even in commercials. By banning that episode all they did was confuse people when the 30 Tauros just magically appeared.

They did remove the strobes and have a version withot them, it might have even been dubbed, but they never released it. Which I find stupid. Some of those seizures were probably sociogenic anyway. They could just add the episode to video rereleases.
It's stupid they didn't let Porygon or its evolutions appear in the anime after that. Who caused the stupid flashing lights? PIKACHU. So get rid of the obnoxious rat instead.

I would've preferred that they did. The show Pikachu as a powerhouse when in reality it TANKS in battle. I totally would've made Cubone the star, they are much more adorable.

They couldn't have Ash start with one of the real starters, as they felt it would alienate anyone who played the games and did not choose said starter, so they went with the Fourth Option Adaptation and had him witha Pikachu and obtaining the other starters later.
But Ash's Bulbasaur is on BAMF. If it spoke human, they would have to bleep every other word coming from it.

Porygon is my favorite pokemon, always was and always will be, since the 90s and till forever. I'm also have seizures introduced from lights, I will not say suffer because there are the times I actually like that feeling, surely I can't get many people to understand. But I had them by the color flashing dolls my mom used to make on the computer, I have had and would sometimes get them from video games and from TV but motherfucker, that isn't going to stop me from playing video games or watching TV I like, or looking at rainbow art I find interesting!!!!!!! And surely I would have never blamed a pokemon for the incident. I KNEW some of those lame fucks who talked about the episode like that, and in dead areas where I lived at long time ago, amongst friends when I was young I seemed to be the only person who really cared!

It was an episode called "The Legend of Dratini". It was banned in America due to the fact that guns are used in it. It's also the episode where Ash caught that herd of Tauros (which just "mysteriously appeared" in the English dub

yeah. I don't remember the episode number, but it wasn't dubbed in english 'cause there was a gun pointed at ash and bullets shot at team rocket's feet. AND either ash or brock CAUGHT, LIKE, 50 TARUOS'. So in later episodes in english either ash or brock (i don't remember right now) magically has a whole bunch of taruos'.
