Hey

For my personal work I do a load of drawings before i start, trying to capture a vision I've had. I started with a few rough sketches of different angles and sort of milestone points I wanted to meet to keep it true to the original vision. I usually abandon the drawing once its been take over by the clay sculpt (i guess around 30% of the way) and then that takes a life of its own, once the main forms are dialed in and the general essence is there, your right, I just feel my way to the end of the sculpt. For this piece I was constantly designing new ways to do things (atleast for my work flow). Also, a sculpt is a totally seperate thing at the end and you need to do everything possible to make sure the entire piece flows and reads as having the same properties throughout.

I'm just gonna jot this down to remind me on my next clay piece lol
