When Tomorrow ComesHello all. To celebrate my fandom as a major Bruce Springsteen fan and a Sonic Underground fan, I'm making parody album covers of Sonic Underground albums based on Bruce Springsteen's albums. I've wanted to do this for a while. Sure I did a parody of "Born To Run" a long time ago, but I want to use my NEW and IMPROVED style to draw the albums right. So, finally, I got off my lazy butt and decided to do the album-parodies I've always wanted to do. I may even do the backs of them when I get the time, including the songs... that would seem cool, eh?
Also, notice their names... Sonic (5 letters) Underground (11 letters) ... Bruce (5 letters) Springsteen (11 letters) and, believe me, I can easily see Sonic as Bruce Springsteen himself... can you? Be honest!
This is the eighth album. This one is based off of Bruce Springsteen's "Tunnel of Love" album. Despite its name, most of the songs are about heartbreak instead of love, because this was during Bruce's divorce with Julianne Philips.
For Sonic Underground, I went with a song that I thought was closest to a love song as possible. I decided to use "When Tomorrow Comes" even though that song is about their love for their mother, not a spouse.
Art-wise, I wanted to draw Sonic is a sexy seductive pose. The background is the SU van, and THAT is a screenshot that I heavily distorted to make it match my drawing. Oh, and I spent hours trying to find the font from the original album, but I gave up and used a font that looked closest to it.

Great work and this' another of my fave SU songs

The last of the great albums from Springsteen's glory years, this is essentially the "I married a supermodel, and I'm so surprised it didn't work out" album. Still, it had songs not only about love gone terribly wrong ("Spare Parts", "One Step up") but also about the nature of love itself ("Tunnel of Love", "Brilliant Disguise"). It even has full on happy songs ("Ain't got You", "All that Heaven will Allow"). One song in particular, "Tougher than the Rest", is what I want my wedding song to be. It fits my views of love so well. [link]
This wraps up Springsteen's glory years, and what is perhaps the worst decision of his career is why. Of course, that was still to come.
