If you're wanting to continue with animals as your subject matter, I would look up reference for animals who have similar colorations as the work you already do. EX: Cows, ironically enough, have a blue-green sheen to their eyes in the right light, even though the iris is generally a deep brown or black.

Very good start for your "first time" fox drawing

For this piece, so far, you seem to be doing it properly. The fur/coat looks good. The nose just needs to cover the front portion of the face. The part that extends further out, that entire edging should be nose. That is the only piece of work I suggest you to do. You might have done so with your continued drawing upon the face. Wait, one more thing. Allow for the fur to look like it slightly is pushed over the eye from above. Not too heavily, just a tad bit further out. Thanks for sharing this with us. I can't wait to see it completed.
