This was torture. I have a page in my sketchbook filled with attempts to make that Chrono Trigger clock work with an “R” instead of a “C.” Long story, short… it didn’t work. So I just got rid of the C, extended the clock border and kept on cruising. I made this full-HD since the original SNES Chrono Trigger Title Screen used plenty of anti-aliasing. Anti-aliasing doesn't look so wonderful when you upscale it to HD. >_<
Hope it’s good enough for most people. I’ll be sticking with pixel splash screens from now on. Full HD takes too long.

Looks cool, like the chrono trigger look, and the HD looks worth it in the end even though it takes longer haha, what did you use to make this btw?

The biggest problem was finding a way to work that clock into this design... since it fits the "C" in "Chrono" perfectly. It doesn't fit an "R" at all. Hahaha.
Let me know if you have any suggestions for further splash screens. Over at the RetroPie forum, someone asked me to do a Super Mario RPG, so I will try to get that done. It shouldn't be as hard.

Wow that's a lot haha, and yeah I know where you're coming from, I have used those programs before and making something like this is a long process! And sorry for the late reply, I've been really busy lately!
Also you should try a 3D program called blendr or blender? I think that's how it's spelt? It's a free 3D program you could use and practice with! I have used it before and it's alright.
Cool design overall though! And Ill let you know if I come up with any splash screens you could do!
That super Mario one would look cool!
